Where are all the Marvel games??

There's not really any point in Marvel Entertainment having its own video game publishing unit when Disney Interactive could do that for them.
I agree with you to a certain extent. Mostly because when you look at the video game strategy of the Walt Disney Company, there is just no place for a Marvel-based publisher. Blockbuster video games were a disaster for the Walt Disney Company with them meeting failure after failure after failure while their mobile and casual titles like Where's My Water?, Club Penguin, and Disney Infinity being the successful titles. If the Walt Disney Company had any desire to go back to blockbuster video games, they wouldn't have shut down LucasArts. They wouldn't be licensing out their properties for non-mobile/casual games.

But there are other factors to take into account that could justify an independent Marvel video game publishing unit. For example, Marvel could just set up a model that is similar to the Marvel Studios model where Marvel Entertainment sets up a development/publishing studio while Disney Interactive distributes the games.

IMO, I think the Walt Disney Company is just waiting to have all the rights to their Marvel properties settled as a opposed to the mish-mash that Marvel created, and then they'll license them out to another publisher as a whole the way they did with the Star Wars license. My guess is that EA will eventually take up the publishing rights to ALL Marvel games.

Just so you all know guys, it is Disney Studios that releases and distributes all the Marvel films guys. Disney Studios handles the marketing, distribution, etc. It's not Marvel releasing the film. Marvel just isn't a company that has a specific needs for its own game publishing division right now because they aren't really making many big video games.
The Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group distributes and markets the films of Marvel Studios, but Marvel Studios is completely independent of that group. Unlike Lucasfilm, Pixar, Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disneynature, Marvel Studios is not a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company's film studio division. Marvel Studios is a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment. As a result, the relationship between Marvel Studios and the Walt Disney Motion Picture group is more similar to the relationship the Walt Disney Company has with DreamWorks SKG. Marvel has complete control over budgeting, green-lighting, creative control, etc. while the the film division of the Walt Disney Company simply handles marketing and distribution.

For example, WB Interactive publishes all the DC Entertainment games. That's just how it is.
I find that to be a bit of a false equivalency because DC Entertainment lacks the independence that Marvel Entertainment enjoys. Unlike Marvel Entertainment, DC Entertainment has little real say on the television shows, films, video games, and whatnot that are produced within Warner Bros. Overall, Warner Bros. treats DC Entertainment the same way they treat the Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera, Lord of the Rings, the Big Bang Theory, and Harry Potter.

While DC Entertainment is seen as a lowly subsidiary of Warner Bros. Entertainment (itself a subsidiary of the Time Warner machine), Marvel Entertainment is a completely independent division within the Walt Disney Company. It is not treated the same way the Walt Disney Company treats Mickey Mouse & Friends, Star Wars, Cars, and Pirates of the Caribbean, it's treated the way actual subsidiaries such as ABC, ESPN, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, etc. are. While there major examples of corporate synergy like Marvel Publishing taking over the Star Wars license, Disney XD airing Marvel Animation productions, ABC Studios making live action television productions of Marvel properties, and Disney Consumer Products handling the licensing, they're done more to create a well-oiled machine within the Walt Disney Company as opposed to just treating them as mere properties. And they're done with the blessing and encouragement of Ike Perlmutter, who remains the CEO of Marvel Entertainment.

I've not been following Marvel comics recently, but I find that a bit hard to believe. They, unlike DC, have never employed hard reboots to their franchises, much less their entire mainstream line.

the sad part is I know they will try it for sure, cause they are really out of idea's they made certain characters worse personality wise some certain storys are becoming bad like how the turned saber tooth into a hero which in validated alot of people that wanted him to be playable due to high hopes in marvel heroes. but with the story it turned out magic was involved & Not of his own free will .

There's a rule that only heroes & ati heroes are allowed made playable in MH2015. It's an marvel edict. some certain fan's have be arguing against it on site of MH since then cause character like carnage saber tooth & mystique do't fit the requirements for heroes of any sort unless forced. these people that want to play them for PVP ETC.

Back to marvel the comic's. They will Also have trouble cause it'll end up like what they tried with ultimate the fact they pick up & coming writers that do't care for any ones story before them with a serial series and some of the lower editors don't care to set them straight before it all hits the printers. I'll jump ship fully when it happens .

Okay, so I read the original Newsarama article being referenced, and holy ****, I guess it is true.

http://www.newsarama.com/23276-the-marvel-universe-is-ending.html

The Marvel Universe, as we have known it since 1961, is ending.

Yes, you read that right.
During a live "Secret Wars Kick-Off" press event at New York City's Midtown Comics, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso and Senior Vice President of Publishing and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort confirmed that the eight-issue series Secret Wars will represent the end of both the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe.
Saying that the mainstream Marvel Universe and Ultimate Universe would "smash together" during the upcoming Secret Wars crossover event, Alonso and Brevoort went on to elaborate that, by the time Secret Wars #1 hits the stands, every world in Marvel's multiverse will be destroyed, with pieces of each forming Battleworld, the staging ground for the Secret Wars storyline
"Once we hit Secret Wars #1, there is no Marvel Universe, Ultimate Universe, or any other. It's all Battleworld," Brevoort said.
Speculation regarding the end of the Ultimate Universe has been rampant, as fans have known for some time that, as of February, Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man will be the sole remaining title in the Ultimate line. What has been less clear is the future of the mainstream Marvel Universe moving out of Secret Wars.
We now know that the Marvel Universe, post-Secret Wars, will be an all new world combining elements not just of the Ultimate Universe and the mainstream Marvel Universe, but possibly bits and pieces of other worlds as well.
"The Marvel Iniverse will be Battleworld, and every single piece of those worlds will be building blocks for the universe," said Alonso, adding that all the universes represented in "Battleworld" will have "legs" moving forward.
Driving home the point that anything will be possible, Alonso also teased the possibility of bring back old characters during Secret Wars. "If we wanted to resurrect Gwen Stacy," he said with a smile, "this would be the place to do it."
While Marvel already teased earlier this month that the company would launch The All-New, All-Different Avengers , after having confirmed Avengers and New Avengers would end in April, Alonso confirmed that Marvel would be launching a "wealth" of new series, both ongoing and minis, during Secret Wars.
The events of Secret Wars represent what Brevoort described as "the culmination of Jonathan Hickman's plans from when he first came onto Avengers and New Avengers."
Brevoort added that Marvel's Free Comic Book Day issue, Secret Wars #0 written by Hickman, will bring readers "up to speed" for the event before it begins in may with Secret Wars #1 and an oversized issue #2.

Big shock. DC's New 52 was a shock, kind of, but DC has always had reboots of various nature (soft or hard), but Marvel has never done anything of that nature line-wide. The Ultimate line ending is no shock, though. They should've killed that years ago.

Also, though, this really doesn't belong in this section. It doesn't have anything to do with Marvel games.

with the games they are how it'll Effect marvell heroes or ay other titled future game there. MH is already based o multiple Reality's where we play as version's of the character in the main universe this wo't Effect MH 2015 too much overly me talking though cause we can still say it's the same universe they can still additions to make that so.

well some made a thread there o MH 2015's asking that to the dev's sice it was based most on 616 design a s a main.

Eh, the actual effect comics have on their adaptations are pretty slim nowadays. Besides, I can't understand 3/4 of what you say, so I guess it doesn't matter anyway.

any way as I just said the only I put it up was besides that someone made a thread there on MH 2015's asking that to the dev's

since it was based most on 616 design a s a main. Is that most of the gamer news sites are taking notice as well in their own way.. so their like that person that made that thread on the MH2015 site .

From page 3 of that thread up top.

This is important...
Hasbro, Mighty Fine, Mad Engine, Funko and Hot Wheels are named as licensors working on "Secret Wars" merchandise. Marvel's game division is also at work on interactive tie-ins
We'll see "Secret Wars" material in Marvel Heroes?? please!!

IN HICKMAN I TRUST! know that this isn't a reboot!
other wise I would have just left it with the top 5 games notice from one of the head Dev's that game informer put them in their magazine after they won a goty and most improved.

it was just part of what was up this week besides that.

Marvel Heroes : Winter Soldier Slides Into Game Later in January

Posted Jan 22, 2015

Gazillion Entertainment has announced that Winter Soldier will be breezing into Marvel Heroes 2015 later this month and is already available for preorder via the game's official site. David Hayter, best known as Solid Snake in Metal Gear, will provide the voice overs for Winter Soldier.
“If you are a Captain America fanatic then Winter Soldier is going to be a must-have hero for your playable hero roster,” said Ryan Collins, Creative Designer and Community Manager of Gazillion. “Winter Soldier kicks off 2015 with a bang, both literally and figuratively, as our first playable hero of the year. As an explosives expert, Winter Soldier has many powers related to planting explosives and throwing grenades at his enemies.”

Pre-orders for Marvel Heroes' Winter Soldier are now open

After years of being mostly notable for being supposedly dead, Bucky Barnes turns out to have actually been kept alive as an elite assassin known as the Winter Soldier. You know, as comics do. The important things to note about the character for our purposes are the fact that he's coming to Marvel Heroes and you can pre-order him right now. You can also hear David Hayter voicing him as a closely related cousin of Solid Snake in the video past the cut, but that probably shouldn't influence your purchase.

The hero pack is at a 10% discount before the character is released and includes the character himself, two costumes for Bucky (comic and MCU incarnations), an extra hero-specific inventory, six Fortune cards, and a retcon token. With the discount, it's just a hair over $16; if that sounds like a bargain for playing a mildly psychotic unfrozen Hydra assassin, you can pick it up now. Continue Reading

More importantly
Talk of MH on Consoles

Last week on test center there was controller support. On tonight's Stream(02/07/15) Mr. B seemed to hint that MH might be headed toward consoles. Judge for yourself. The stream link is below, the time it starts is around 1:50:17

I don't understand this.

Are Marvel/Disney waiting for something until they make exciting games? Is there simply a lack of interest from Marvel/Disney in making great Marvel video games? Don't Marvel/Disney believe in their own characters when it comes to games? Do they lack talent?

I mean we're getting these uninteresting mobile games all the time from them, yet we're still waiting for at least an announcement of a major console game. I don't believe Marvel/Disney are working on something big in the dark, they'd at least announce that they're working on something.

Hey all,
I wanted to briefly announce and provide a thank you on behalf of all of us to @TheArtofRawr. Rawr is moving to a new team at another studio at the end of this week.
He’s done a fine job working on Marvel Heroes and set a standard for responsible and thoughtful design iteration based on very passionate feedback from all of us who play and care about the game. I wanted to have this opportunity to say “thank you sir!” and wish him luck.
Rawr has almost finished work on the Punisher 52 Review and has set the pieces in place for the remaining 52 reviews, so we’re in a good spot. We will be revising the review schedule a bit and moving around some work as we get our new designers up to speed (not just for hero work, but for everything). @Ryolnir will do an official schedule revision once we finalize the details.
But for now, thanks Rawr and we wish you luck!

Greetings all,

It’s a bittersweet thing to turn the page on a chapter. It has been a genuine pleasure to work with all of you to make this game what it is today.

I’m filled with pride to look back on the long road behind us, and I’ll be excited to watch Marvel Heroes continue to grow long into the future. Never before have I been a part of such a vibrant gaming community, and I’d be very fortunate to find any other of this caliber.

I’m gonna miss you guys! Happy trails.

as to marvel I stated what they are doing since they are still in charge of their own games division. They have the dev's up & coming ones studio's come to them as they have a walk in policy. So they can have control / say so in what happens with their games . they aren't actively seeking dev's ,nore their studio's or publishers out .

The latter of the two publishers screwed them over.

I'm not sure I fully understand your post, but looking at those games those are the exact kind of games I'm sick of seeing. I want to see some announcement of at least one big game, not cheap looking ones. Games that at least try to rival the big ones.

they're headed to consoles but two of them are for hand helds and Marvel heroes 2015 is stated to be for the home consoles, it still has yet to be announced which of the latter though.

The latter of which isn't cheap either . They have David Hayter, Troy Baker & number of other with voice work. it's far from cheap.

Considering all the stuff thats been going on in the Spider-Man books with Spiderverse, now would be a perfect time for Shattered Dimensions to get a sequel (I guess technically EoT). I can envision the game featuring 3 or 4 large hub worlds across multiple dimensions and you play as multiple Spider-characters teaming up together. The lineup could be a combination of 616 Peter, Ultimate's Mile Morales, Spider-Gwen, Silk, Spider-Woman, The Superior Spider-Man and/or Spider-Man 2099. There would be missions with a predetermined hero, but most could allow you to pick which you'd want to use. If and when Spidey gets in the hand of a worthy developer, this is a story that needs to be adapted to a videogame

I think there's another game featuring that. I dog't how likely it would be for marvel to allow two games of it . it's possible though. but sofar it hasn't occurred to them to do that

there's a mobile free-runner which isnt what Im looking for. Im talking about a retail action/adventure experience with a splash of sandbox elements

hmm I do't think it was the mobile one that has a different title . I'll have to relook it up I know they said spider verse & it wasn't a runner.

I'm speaking of games in the likes of the Arkham games. Great graphics, combat, story, presentation etc.

Shattered Dimensions is an unpolished yet nice and enjoyable game. Mostly thanks to the fun tone of it and much of the art direction. It could be cool to see a sequel in the same spirit but it's a little gimmicky.

I stated before to others we won't have that for a while cause they haven't found the right dev's cause of the old school policy marvel has where they have the dev studio's "ones starting out" specifically come to them.

that won't happen until they do what they did with with making their movies by creating therr own studio production house .

You want that , then marvel will have to make a games publisher house (or as others have called it )"unit." with the ones they already control marvel has bee doing this lame walk in policy so they still have control which why publisher house would work better but they are doi what they did for their movie it seem people want them to move fast so we can have title similar to arkham as in tripple A titles but that won't happen til they actaully do what they did for their movies for their games
