Where the Wild Things are.

I loved this movie and after seeing the behind the scenes videos, it feels so good to know that there are directors like spike jonze that put so much love and care not only to the actual movie but to all those involved...it's just beautiful to me.

Theatre hopped into this after paying for Black Dynamite(another excellent flick by the by). Very well done, but probably a little TOO real for some families, as Max is an a-hole as a kid, and most parents feel it hits a little close to home with their own.

Coming from the guy whos 4th favourite comic-book movie adaption is 'Punisher: War Zone'. :oldrazz:
Hey man... dont hate. PWZ was very close to the comic so thats why its one of my favorites

Which comic are you talking about.

The film may have borrowed a few scenes from the *MAX line, but had more cheese than the actual War Zone run from the eighties. Not to mention each "faithful" scene was executed poorly.

*For those who know next to nothing of the Punisher, the MAX line was a gritty and realistic Punisher comic that featured more vulgar language than the South Park feature film, more blood and gore than an Eli Roth film, etc.

I don't think that's bad though. You still love your kids when they act up. And even if the kid is acting like a brat they still love you even if they say otherwise.

Damnit, this is why I hate being an Aussie.

We don't get the film until December (when the kids are on christmas holidays I guess).

I'm so tempted to find me alternate ways of watching this, but I must hold back and enjoy it in Gold Class and add to the box office gross.

I've been obsessed with the progress of this film ever since I was awed by the amazing trailer with "wake up" playing in the background.

The good reviews just make me want to see this even more!

Domestic Total as of Oct. 18, 2009: $32,470,000

I really wanted to like PWZ, but just couldn't.

Also, I have to disagree with B89 being a higher ranked film than TDK.

Sorry, back to Where the Wild Things Are... :)

Eh... I loved TDK and all but for some reason it just didnt seem to be a BATMAN movie, I didnt think it focused on batman enough but I still loved it. Plus Batman89 is a classic in my book

anyone else like the way the cinematography and the music mixed together during certain scenes...it was a beautifully shot film...story was pretty good 6.5/10

alright to update my older post... I didn't hate the movie. I just didn't understand the story. I haven't read the book so maybe thats why i dont completely understand. I did in fact love the cinematography, music, and the characters. (were the characters cgi or were those costumes? Great CGI which I assume the facial expressions were.

Just the faces were CG. And what's there not to understand about the story? I thought it was pretty straightforward.

the story isn't that complicated. The monsters were a reflection of Max

I thought the movie was brilliant. One of the best movies of the year in my opinion. With that being said I can see where this movie might not be for everyone.

I loved the movie...Wouldnt buy it thought..I saw it in the theaters today... 8/10

I really want to check this movie out. It seemed to be the kind of movie I wanted to wait a week or so just to see what other think, and so far it looks very good.

What makes this movie difficult for some people is that it's a film based on a children's book, and it's about the chaotic mentality of childhood, but it's not really made for children.

I'm perfectly OK with that myself, BTW.
