I've met only one person who is in love with Batman v Superman. He also despises Marvel and claims that the critics were paid to give BVS negative reviews on RT. He said, "can you believe that piece of **** Guardians of the Galaxy has over 90%?!"

Now he can vomit: "Can you believe that piece of **** Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 has over 81 million views in 24hr?! it's so obvious Disney paid off a bunch of people to view the teaser multiple times"

Te hee heeee HAAAA!!!!!!

JL is releasing in Nov. Not exactly the biggest movie month out there. Even the Harry Potter films released in November didn't crack the billion mark. With the current stigma on the franchise I'd say best it would do is 950 more realistically I'm saying 850.

Wonder Woman's success or failure I think determines whether it is above or below the 850 line.

Mate, you're dreaming. Even if WW is a hit JL isn't making a $Billion. I really can't wait for next year to come to see how things play out.

We shall see friend ;)

But like,I,said, its all on WW. If its a big hit, people will turn up to see her team up with Batman later that year.

I wouldn't be surprised, but Ragnarok is a sleeping giant.

It's still Justice League. Even though I feel that the DCEU is in worse position after BvS than after MOS, I still wouldn't be necessarily surprised if even a crappy JL does well because it's still Batman, Superman and WW. I felt kinda that way late last year into this year when I said that BvS "should" make $1B.

Let me clarify, because of the BvS reception I wouldn't be surprised if JL didn't do $1B especially if it's the same quality.

However, if it does I wouldn't be surprised because we are still talking about the 1, 2 and 3 most popular CB characters of all time.

I get what you're saying but character popularity only gets you so far. 3 years ago no one knew who the hell GoTg were. They went on to make over $700 million and gained cult status.

Batman and Superman are beyond icons of popular culture and during a generous period of zero competition and a lot of free time from key demographics they barely crossed the $800 million mark.

People ideally want good movies and above all to be entertained. For many, BVS failed to be both.

JL will make money, that's not in dispute. However, just don't expect it to gross a $Billion+ because it's an absolutely certainty that its not going to happen. JL will be extremely lucky to make more than BvS but personally I think it'll make less. For all of JL's additions and potential creative lessons learned it's still at a disadvantage compared to what BvS had going for it.

The DCEU is in a unique position. I mean unlike the Avengers, that had 5 movies that developed Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Cap and Loki. Not to mention secondary characters like Black Widow, and Fury. And introduced Hawkeye.

Wonder Woman has been introduced in BvS, now her backstory is going to be told in WW on how she came to man's world and what made her leave. How much is going to be a lead up if any to JL? Is it her looking at an old picture and reminiscing then returns to the present with Batman saying are you ready to go to work?

What I'm worried about is do we have to go through that 2 more times with Aquaman and Flash but this time after they were established in JL?

I agree with the majority on here. I think Guardians will at least get close to a billion then Spider-Man + RDJ could get there too.

But it's really tough to say.

I am constantly amazed just how many people confuse being known or public awareness to 'popularity'. Numbers just don't back it up.

This article from Forbes offers an interesting solution In that each movie is standalone, and you take only the best characters from the previous films an put them on screen. Then just abandon the bigger story.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottme...sequel-in-the-dc-films-universe/#eadb04827fbd

It also speaks to how viewers want the characters to interact etc. and that's the real draw for the film. A little further down the list they talk about how DC really isn't keeping up the pace and is struggling to get the product out where Marvel has turned into a well oiled machine.

Oh and while I understand your the big 3 on screen people want that argument. I think you have to also acknowledge the part where we've already seen the big 3 and it it was pretty divisive, so the huge draw to see it for the first time on screen won't be there. They sort of wasted that move in BvS. Now it's see them together again.

I just now thought that if Thor Ragnarok is as great as we hope it to be, that might actually help Justice League, despite what one might first think. Next year will have lots of blockbusters and many of them are superheroes. I'm thinking that general audience wont get bored of them as long as they are good.

"Hey, that last superhero film was awesome. Let's go see another one!"

I don't see that happening if JL is bad. The critics will destroy it with hell fire and fanboys will add an extreme dose of butane. It will not end well for WB/DCEU if JL is a disaster.

^ WB/DC looks like they're going to win the domestic box-office battle this year. Having said that, from what I can gather most people went into both films fairly optimistic and curious. Their experience with those 2 films should play heavy on what we see turnout wise with both WW & JL. Following both DC and Marvel could be overwhelming for a lot of people and they may end up picking one over the other. I know when it comes to must see in theater I've ended up picking Marvel because of the investment I've built up and enjoyment I've had seeing their films. DCCU has now become a renter for me which is a shame because growing up I favored DC way more.

Seeing the predicament that the DCEU is currently in upsets me greatly!! Im a huge DC fan (don't like Marvel at all, except for the X-MEN) and to see how badly WB has handled the movies makes me incredibly angry! If Wonder Woman is bad then I have no idea what I'm going to do lol.

Unfortunately, Marvel will win next year and GOTG2 will likely be the highest grossing of the bunch. -____-

come on now i hate BVS as much as the next guy but it did'nt barely cross 800 million it made 873 million thats 27 million shy of 900

crap on the movie all you want but dont flat out lie lol

Yeah well I wasn't lying, I was just being lazy with my accuracy but in any case, $800 or 875 million, the general point still stands. GoTg are or were at least nobodies compared to superman and Batman and yet the latter was only able to outgross the former by only $102 million.

Batman v Superman should have easily made over a billion.

I'd put JL in at about $825m WW when all said & done.

I know the joke is old but if a talking Tree and a raccoon outgross JL, that's just an embarrassing.

And next year it'll be a BABY tree and a racoon lol

As one of the few fans of the DCEU and someone who's got JL on the top of their anticipated list, I know GoTG2 will outgross JL. Its a given. I wasn't sure until I saw the trailer and that movie looks like its going to hit all the GA sweetspots. The kids are gonna LOVE Baby Groot.

Every $ spent on Justice league box office will have to be properly earned, given the anti-feeling generated from BvS, sadly. If I was WB, i'd be low balling my expectations.
