Simple answer - no

Definitely go back and stock up on JSA Classified back issues. They're insanely rare and the backmarket value is sure to go through the roof in upcoming months.

Watching trends in backmarket rarity and vlue is something I do in my spare time, and I've become quite good at it. I used my friend as a guinea pig for my theories and I ended up making him over three grand in two months.

so why do scalpers go nuts with these issues?

also (and this may be complete stupidity on my part) i was under the impression if an issue went to reprint, having the original would be worth something (i don't mean "one hundred billion dollars" but perhaps a little more than the cover price).

So, the first issue? If you have a first printing, yeah, you can probably get just over cover price. Maybe more if you can find someone mad enough to pay for it.

Walking Dead and Invincible #1 are both quite tasty.
Probably the only stuff that'll go up will be small market early issues. Everything else is either over printed or over hyped so that everyone knows to buy it (like Cap 25, etc.).
