BvS Which Green Lantern should be used?

Unless The Rock plays Stewart, my vote is for Hal. I never cared for John and, to me, Hal is the premier Lantern.

Hal Jordan. He's the primary/best known GL in the comics and needs some cinematic redemption.

Stewart. As clueless as the general audience is on things, a different name would be helpful to create distinction and seperate this universe from the 2011 atrocity. If we had more time in between, I'd say Hal but more than likely they'll want to reintroduce GL sooner rather than later.

I agree. It wasn't Spider-man 3, Superman Returns or any other movie that put up big box office numbers but left a negative mark, people just didn't care to see it. Since most people didn't even check it out, it's hard to tarnish the character.

Either Stewart or Jordan would work if done properly. If all they're going to do is try and make Hal the DC version of Tony Stark throwing out one-liners and being a semi-likeable *****ebag all the time then I'd say go for John Stewart. The *****e routine from Stark only works because it's RDJ, that act didn't fly when Reynolds was doing the actually-a-decent-guy-but-*****ey-because-of-difficult-childhood thing.

Hal Jordan would make the most sense. This is a reboot of GL and he's the first human.


Plus we already have an African-American on the cast with Cyborg. No reason to include Stewart for diversity. Diversity is Stewart's best asset. The JS character is quite bland.

Hal has a better mythology to work from, and he's DC's current #1 GL.


My guess is we're getting the first New 52 JL Lineup.

The inclusion of Cyborg likely means on John Stewart.
