The Hal Jordan/Green Lantern Thread

If Hal is in JL then it only begs the question of who DC have cast especially if they keep Hal as a surprise

If it's some 10 second cameo they don't need to cast anyone. It could just be a quick shot of some Ferris Air hangar with some pilot whose face can't be seen, getting in the cockpit and the ring flying to him. "Hal Jordan of Earth, you have the ability to overcome great fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps". End.

If he's in the movie this is how it'll probably play out.

That would be better because then it could give DC ample time then to cast someone as Hal Jordan

If they go the route of an older Hal Jordan and a younger John Stewart, I'm kind of loving the idea of Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan.

And they need to lock Daniel Kaluuya down as John Stewart ASAP.

Trevante Rhodes would be a much better John Stewart.

Haven't had a chance to see Moonlight yet. I'll give it a look.

Mahershala Ali as John Stewart and as Hal Jordan I would go with Nathan Fillion

Or as Hal Jordan they should go with someone like James Marsden

I was thinking they coulda done something similar with Batman on MoS, like Before the ending Clark Kent scene, in some way that fit into the story going forward (Joker card, Thor hammer, etc.) like some kinda scene with the bat signal where you just see his silhouette from behind with the cape, or his shadow pouncing on some criminal. People would freak, especially because it hadn't been made official yet that it was part of a cinematic universe (yeah, they didn't quite know yet either, but come on). So many fun ways to announce it, that would be inclusive of the entire audience, instead of showing the two symbols to a small crowd at ComicCon, if they'd have just thought ahead.

He's 5'10'' and 43, but easily looks mid-30s because of his youthful looks and can easily be made to look taller for the movie (or he could be the shortest leaguer, although for some reason I love Flash being the shortest and less buff).

He's probably my top choice, but I really like Hammer for this too, I just don't want yet another leaguer being taller than Superman... :o

Hal has his own spotlight in the new DC intro ... Hal confirmed for JL?

Nah not yet because there were a lot of characters there. Wouldn't count him out though

TOM CRUISE as Hal Jordan

He is likable and it would be cool if they go with an older and mentorlike Hal Jordan. I wouldn't mind Jamie Foxx as John Stewart either

Hey, Cruise could be okay if they go for a veteran Hal Jordan. And after The Mummy bombs, he might be looking for a new franchise.

Agree that Cruise would make a great Hal, largely on the back of Maverick; but its for that reason that its a no-go as he's soon to be playing him again in the Top Gun sequel.

A veteran Hal Jordan is still probably 15 years younger than Tom Cruise right now

I wouldn't hate it but they really should go younger.

I do agree that they should go younger but I'd be fine with him. If they do go a little older though, I think Aaron Eckhart or Justin Theroux would be good.

Cruise is a fine actor but unfortunately too old and too short. Even if the character is older, I don't see him being in his 50s. Besides Hal Jordan shouldn't look like a little person standing next to Batman and Aquaman.
