I still need to see BH6. I liked GOTG but loved Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

It's still my favorite film of the year, one of my favorite all time SH films and the best film from the MCU.

Better acted, better characterization, better scripted, better paced, better themes, better heroes and villains, better action than GOTG.

I even laughed more at the humor. Give me "We're borrowing. Get Your feet off the dash" over stick up your butt jokes any day of the week.

X-Men Days of Future Past which for some reason isn't on this woefully incomplete poll.

Perhaps the OP meant Marvel Studios only and forgot to clarify in the title. But that can't be since Big Hero 6 isn't from that studio

Seems pretty obvious the OP meant Marvel Studios, considering those were the only ones he listed. Is DoFP a Marvel Studios film? No? There is your reason why it isn't in the poll.

Winter Soldier made me a believer again. 10/10

Winter Soldier after watching it again it makes me realize that I was wrong, Winter Soldier by far is superior to Guardians

Loved both Cap 2 and Guardians, but despite being in the same Universe they have two very different looks/cinematography (mostly due to locations/space vs earth) and tones/feel (darker spy-thriller vs funnier space opera), so it is difficult to say whether one is "better" than the other. I'll have to go with Guardians though, as it was the better movie going experience for me, but they are very close.

Haven't seen BH6 yet, as won't be released in my country until mid January.

I think Guardians marginally edges it ahead of TWS for me. I hope the bar remains this hig for future Marvel Studio films as these 2, Iron Man 1 & Avengers are easily ahead of the pack.

The poll is definitely woefully incomplete. It doesn't have Man of Steel in there. :o

I notice The Goonies is missing too. Which seems quite mean-spirited at this time of year.

I also noticed that "Call Me Maybe" is missing from the poll.

Snow piercer also isn't on this woefully incomplete list. It's based on a comic book and has Captain America in it so how could it not count?

It's a testament to the success of Marvel how they were able to make both movies look so different yet still feel like they were part of the same world.

Each we're pretty good but CA:TWS wins it for me.

Captain America: TWS for me. Not only is it the best MCU movie but also it's a great action/political thriller which ought to appeal even to non-comic book fans because it is quite similar in many ways to other action movies like the Bourne series.

Unfortunately, some people just can't get over the fact that it's a comic book film. Take my mother, for instance. After only less than 10 minutes into the film, she's already complaining she doesn't like it with all the noise when it's only into the first action scene of Cap taking out the villains on the ship and doesn't want to watch anymore. So instead we watch a different action movie (one of the Bourne movies) which has just as much frenetic action (filmed in a similar way) and noise. And she will enjoy that and be more open to it. Why? Because she's prejudiced against comic book movies and the fact that Cap is in a costume is what already puts her off and she thinks it is going to be a certain way.

But the rest of the story IS similar to a Bourne movie with him being chased by shady government officials and he doesn't even spend that much time in his costume. And it IS exactly the kind of film my mother would like IF she actually got over her prejudice and gave it a chance.

Sorry, I have to rant because it pisses me off and is just another example of her not ever trying to understand me or the things I like, which in fact would be something she would also like if she looked past it and watched more than just 5 minutes. :cmad:

My mother is sort of the same way, so you're not alone in that. She's not super rude about it or anything, but she's told me multiple times before she has no interest in seeing any superhero movies.

That sucks to hear you guys. My mother loves these types of movies and she really enjoyed both GOTG & TWS. Hell, we even went to go see Godzilla together earlier this year.

going go with Guardians! loved TWS but it felt like a polictical drama with superheroes thrown in while GOTG felt like a superhero movie! it had talking raccoons and trees for heavens sake!( but not cheesy!)

Out of those three, Cap 2.

Great action, great message, powerful ending.

It was the total package.
