Which Netflix characters should be a part of the grander MCU now?

Again, just because the Hand had a lackluster showing in the Defenders, doesn't mean that they can't be written better in future outings. I do not see anything in any of the Netflix shows that is so problematic that it needs to be ditched. And certainly not anything worth losing Cox, D'onofrio, and Bernthal.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see the Hand in the movies anyway. As for Bullseye, I don't think that is an issue. The show ends with him basically getting his new spine and being Bullseye. So give him a proper Bullseye outfit, say he hates Daredevil, and boom! Backstory that we don't actually have to see and we can move on!!! For us who care, we can watch the show to see him evolve there. It's win/win for everybody. Not every detail from the shows needs to be stated in dialogue. It can just be vague things like that.

DD, Kingpin, Punisher, Elektra, and Jess should all get brought into the MCU, the actors were all great and deserve a chance to bring their characters to a bigger audience
only Luke and Danny should be shelved for a bit until they can figure out how to use them or recast them

The dd tv shows will not be part of the mcu because they are r rated. It is the same reason that deadpool is staying at fox and not joining the mcu. Feige dosen't want the mcu linked with r rated content. Also the tv stuff was made by perlmutter who feige does not get on with.

You do realize that Deadpool is, in fact, joining the MCU, right? Particular since it can't "stay at Fox" because Fox is ceasing to exist?

No. Fox doesn't cease to exist. It becomes like pixar, marvel etc...

Alan Horn has said that Deadpool will stay at Fox. Since he is the head of disney film division (including, mcu, pixar, fox) he might know what he's talking about.

They didn't say he would stay at Fox, they said they would keep him R-rated, which likely means his movies will be distributed using the Fox Logo and such, but he is going to be in the MCU.

Unfortunately I think all of the roles will be recast. The long standing issue that I have with the Marvel Netflix is that it should have been it's own universe, with zero connections to the MCU at all, basically Marvel's version of the CW Arrowverse. This way, the timelines would not have messed up because if I remember correctly, none of the Netflix shows ever mentioned the events of Civil War or the Sokovia Accords.

Alan Horn at cinemacon said deadpool will stay at fox according to john campea.

Stay at Fox doesn't mean not in MCU. It just means he will have the Fox logo

Well, The Raft is brought up in Season 2 of Jessica Jones after it had been established in Civil War, if that counts for anything.

That season was a total bore that I slept through most of it.

Whether the season bored you or otherwise is immaterial. It doesn't overlook the fact that something in Civil War was referenced after you just said none of the Netflix shows ever mentioned it.

The Punisher can easily pop into Black Widow movies or even with the Falcon/Winter Soldier series.

LOL...well, THAT'S certainly going to put a crimp in Marvel's plans going forward.

For me, Daredevil, because I have his first comic (with the ugly yellow suit), but my heart belongs to Jessica Jones. I loved hanging out with people like her, but they couldn't jump as well as she does.

Looks like we're going to get them back at the same time as the X-Men and Fantastic Four which is to say, in Phase 5.

None of the backstory in these shows is really anything you need to directly reference. Why do you need to say how Matt and Fisk met? You can easily start with Fisk is in jail/broken out of prison and Matt is the one who put him there. That's all you need to know, and the shows can fill in whatever backstory people want if they want to look it up later. Who cares if Luke was raised in Georgia? The Luke we meet is likely going to be in Harlem with powers already anyway, so who cares? The MCU movies already ignore stuff going from movie to movie anyway. Rhodey gets crippled defending the Accords, and next movie he basically can walk without restrictions and is angry Ross sees Cap and co as enemies. Loki is on the throne at the end of one movie and is dethroned in first 10 mins of next movie. You see my point? It's no more restrictive than any other character, and they can just ignore or easily maneuver around whatever they want. Largely by just not bringing it up.

Because it's an essential part of Luke's character, and the Netflix show was a terrible adaptation?

He has a point. Look at all of the stuff they did with Elektra, Bullseye and the Hand. The MCU writers would have to adhere to all of that stuff if the shows are kept canon. Better to just start fresh with a clean slate

I agree with this. How can anyone look at the way Iron Fist was written and cast and think that's acceptable for a movie, let alone an adaptation of a cool character like that? I don't want to see a whiny Danny Rand who isn't ripped and comes from a dark Kun-Lun where they wear bathrobes.

After seeing the Yakuza in Endgame, I think the Hand could look really cool in a movie adaptation. The movies are far better for handling ninja stuff than TV.

Luke Cage and Daredevil joining the big screen MCU gets my vote

Unfortunately I think the Netflix characters (or any TV characters) will be recast if they ever appear in an MCU movie or even a Disney+ series. James D'Arcy's recent cameo makes it seems like if any future movies' directors/ series' show runners use a character already cast by someone else, that characters must be (1) prominent enough (i.e. Ryan Coogler can't cast T'Challa as he wanted, because that character had been cast by someone else at the studio, and this is a prominent movie character), (2) the original actor must have a connection with the movies' directors/ series' show runners (Joe Russo directed an episode of Agent Carter, so he and his brother definitely know James D'Arcy, or they may even have a part in casting him themselves). Other than that, I don't think any new directors/ showrunners want to feel obligatory to work with a strange actor that they don't personally choose themselves: the movies/ Disney+ shows are "prestigious" enough that they can choose new actors if they want, and the Netflix series are "second tier" enough to be ignored by people at the movie studio.

So, if the hypothetical Daredevil-centric show on Disney+ has Erik Oleson as showrunner, I can see that he will cast Charlie Cox again. Or if Kevin Feige loves the Netflix shows so much, he might require the original cast to be used in movies/ Disney+ shows, I just don't think that's the case though.

That's for the actors; for the characters, I don't think they will be used by people at Marvel studio though, since they probably will want to recast and reintroduce when the series have faded from people's mind.

I don't think it was. I think it was a more than fine adaptation.

My vote would be Daredevil from Netflix series and have him first in spiderman movie with Holland then a new Avengers movie if made in phase 4.

Patsy Walker. I think there’s a lot of potential for her to shine more in later MCU media.

Man this Netflix deal sort of backfired in the end didn't it?
