Which of the New 52 will you be sticking with?

I only read Action Comics and Animal Man. I'm rubbish.

Do you have something against the rest of the alphabet besides A or something? :csad:

That's a pretty strong list, Corp.

No interest in Flash? :o
Nah. I'll try it again if and when Wally shows up or Bart is revealed to be connected to Barry again or Iris and Barry get together. Basically, I'm glad Barry's back to being his upbeat Silver Age self, but I need his world to reflect the Flash family I love and followed all the way through the Waid, Millar, Morrison, and Johns runs. I get an uneasy feeling that something's not right when I read this version of The Flash and I know I won't be able to look at it fairly because of how unbelievably f***ed over Rebirth and Flashpoint have left... well, basically everyone who's not Barry.

Sound logic.

So far, I'm gonna go with the following next month:

Action Comics
Animal Man
Batman
Batman & Robin
Batwoman
Detective Comics
Nightwing
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Red Lanterns
Flash
Aquaman
Justice League
Justice League International
Justice League Dark
Swamp Thing
DC Universe Presents
Superman
Superboy

Then, I'm interested in collecting quite a few titles in trades. I've really been enjoying the New 52. The only titles I've really disliked so far are Hawk and Dove, Green Arrow, and the Legion of Superheroes titles.

Updated my list having read some more comics.

Keeping:
Animal Man
Aquaman
Batwoman
Demon Knights
Frakenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E.
Green Lantern
Justice League Dark
Men of War
Nightwing
OMAC
Stormwatch
Swamp Thing
Wonder Woman

On the fence:
Captain Atom
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Justice League International
Red Hood and the Outlaws

Dropping:
Catwoman
Static Shock
The Flash
Fury of Firestorm
Teen Titans

So now that I've tried all the comics I care to try from DC's new line-up, I decided to take the plunge and e-mail my shop owner my official new pull list. There's obviously stuff from other comic companies on there, but here's what I settled on as the final list for DC:

Action Comics
Animal Man
Aquaman
Batman
Batman Incorporated (for when Leviathan or whatever Morrison's follow-up starts, just in case I don't change my pull list again before then)
Batwoman
DC Universe Presents
Demon Knights
Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern: New Guardians
I, Vampire
Justice League Dark
Nightwing
Resurrection Man
Swamp Thing
Wonder Woman

As you can see, several of the series I'm on the fence about have made it onto the pull list. I figured I'd add them because I suspect I'll be sticking with them at least through their first arc. I'm more "on the fence" about the ones I didn't add, meaning I'd probably be able to concretely decide whether I'm sticking with them or dropping them after just another issue or two.

Yet another relaunch of a character whose origins I was rather fond of as-is. Between that and the not-so-positive word-of-mouth I've seen for it, I'm sure it would've ended up disappointing me.

The exclusion of Frankenstein is upsetting, though.

My final list:

Action Comics
Animal Man
Aquaman
Batman
Batman and Robin
Batwoman
Blue Beetle
The Flash
Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Justice League
Justice League International
Stormwatch
Supergirl
Swamp Thing
Wonder Woman

The only other possible I might add is All-Star Western. We'll see.

I read Frankenstein and could not for the life of me understand why everyone else is so crazy for it. It's the literary character as a superhero. Big deal.

No, it's more than that.

It's the literary character as a super hero secret agent. It's like crossing Hellboy with SHIELD and the Seven Soldiers of Victory. It's three levels of awesome.

It's the introduction of the classic monster quartet (vampire, werewolf, aquathing, and mummy) in a pretty fresh and new way.

It's dr. Frankenstein being an 11yo girl...and not thinking it's odd.

It's how Jeff Lemire interjects all of his writing with this demure infusion of the bizarre and weird.

Plus Ray Palmer is in it.

Since Firestorm was total bust... I'm going to wait for them to relaunch JSA a and Powergirl.

Out of the 49 I read I'm sticking with 38.

I've got about 3 or 4 more books to read before making my final list.

None of that really interests me. Hellboy is so great because of the atmosphere Mignola infuses that world with, plus Hellboy himself is a lot more charismatic than Frankenstein, who was boring and grumpy in the issue. SHIELD is great because it's super-spy stuff in the midst of a world with recognizable superheroes and stuff. Frankenstein seemed to go out of its way to not feature anything recognizable from the DC universe in this issue. Frankenstein just gets called to investigate some random threat.

I've never really been into the "classic monster quartet" because I never watched those old Universal B-movies. They're random monsters to me and I'm not really impressed by just seeing them together.

The commander dude as a little girl was good for a quick laugh, but that's about it.

Maybe I've read too much other bizarre and weird stuff, but I didn't find the issue especially weird in any cool way.

Ray Palmer was a pleasant surprise, but I'm not all that interested in Ray Palmer as Ray Palmer. If he's not shrinking to subatomic size, he's just another dude in a lab coat.

I haven't read anything before Frankenstein Agent of SHADE with him in it, CConn, but I thought that he called the little girl "Father" because that is "Father Time" (after checking the DC wikia page thingy) and not "Dr. Frankenstein". Is he both?

I am thoroughly enjoying everything I've read thus far. On my subscription list, include -

Action Comics
Animal Man
Aquaman
Batgirl
Batman
Batman and Robin
Batman: Detective Comics
Batman: The Dark Knight
Batwoman
Blue Beetle
Captain Atom
The Flash
Green Arrow
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Justice League
Justice League International
Nightwing
Red Lanterns
The Savage Hawkman
Superman
Superboy
Supergirl
Swamp Thing
Teen Titans
Wonder Woman

It's petty, but that literally made me lose tons of respect for you.

It's like not knowing what Lord of the Rings is. Or saying Star Wars is outdated. Or thinking Batman was invented by Adam West.

Let's never speak of this again.

I might have liked Frankenstein better the second time I read it if it wasn't for the whole Groovy Ghoulie squad. The book is a mess. It was very much a poor man's Hellboy, and without the charm.

Corp, he's a Ferret-Freak. His words mean nothing. Go play in your shoebox, SF. :cmad:

Frankenstein was awesome. On the basis of using the classical universal monsters alone it had me at hello.

For now I'll stick with:

Action
Aquaman
Batman
Batgirl
Detective
Flash
Green Lantern
Hawkman
JLA
Superman
Supergirl
Wonder Woman

I expect to drop JLA, I already dropped Teen Titans, I bought Nightwing #1 but it felt like a demotion, I bought Batman and Robin #1 but it's not the same without Richard as Batman. Everything else I'm giving 5 issues.
