After all that i read abou the movie, i got myself thinking about that.

Answer, please.

Hmm.....

I'd say they are all definitely important, it's a very collaborative biz.

Right now I think G Miller is a fine director. Remember, there was a time where Raimi, Burton, Singer, and Favreau weren't big names and famous for great comics adaptations.

I say give the man a chance. He's not McG or Tim Story.

From where I sit, CASTING is the problem. I think that the rumored Superman actor is the biggest casting problem, DJ Cotrona looks NOTHING like Superman and is entirely TOO SHORT for the part. Secondly, Armie Hammer's casting is kinda off, but not AS off as Cotrona's, IMO. He's too tall and young, IMO. The point being, if THAT is who they've cast as Superman and Batman then they NEED to recast. Those are HORRIBLE choices. I say cast Michael Trucco as Superman, for starters, and cast someone older than Hammer as Batman.

I want this film to happen, I really want to see a live action JLA film.

I think the rest of the cast is fine so far:

Common as GL/John Stewart: Great

Adam Brody as Flash/Barry Allen: Good

Megan Gale as WW: Great

As long as they promise that Hal Jordan gets to be the GL in the GL movie than I don't mind if Stewart is the GL in JLA. I think Common is really perfect for the part.

How could you possibly choose just one? All of them are tremendously important.

If Batman & Robin is any indication, the screenplay is most important. They had a great director in Joel Schumacher and a great group of actors (Clooney, Thurman, Schwarzenegger), but they had a terrible screenplay, which brought the film down.

My suggestion to WB...get a new writing team. The Mulroney's have never written a film before. Get someone with more experience.

They wrote Mr and Mrs Smith, dude.....

No, they didnt.

the actors first recast hammer and cotrona they are both wrong for said roles. Secondly script.

YEa i am totally fine with the rest of the cast but if u want to sell this to the general public/comic fans u need to get better suited actors in for batman and superman and look more like the characters and all that.

The screenplay. A great screenplay can make credible actors look fantastic. But even good actors can rarely do much with crap.

There all important, but I guess I'd have to say Director if I gotta pick one. After all, the buck starts and stops with him.

They are all important. but i'll place the director at the top. i think if it's a good and reputable director he or she will make sure the rest fall into place.

The most important role is the one you didn't put up there. Its the interested people who come to see the film.

Script, like its already been said, if u have good actors and a bad script then the whole thing is crap

They are all important. DJ Contra as superman? Armie Hammer as Batman? Armie Hammer could work as supes from a manip I saw, but Contra? No way. I like what marvel is doing with their set up to the avengers movie. They have contracts stating all the actors in their own movie (Downey, Norton) have to reprise their roles in the avengers movie. That's cool, but the budget will be very high. So them going the alternative route and hiring unknowns is a reasonable move.

However, just because they are casting unknowns doesn't mean they can pick anybody. I've looked at the actors up for the roles and so far, I'm only happy with GL. Flash is ok, but I can't see him as Barry. Maybe Bart Allen, but not Barry Allen. Megan Gale as Wonder Woman? I just can't see it, maybe when they release a trailer in 09, but right now I can't see it. Hammer can pull off a good superman from the look of that manip. He has the right look and height. As for the rest of the rumored cast I don't know. Cabrera as aquaman? It's Jessica Alba from FF4 all over again.

For a JLA movie to be done, everything has to be good. Not just the JLA the same for any comic movie, or better yet all movies in general. The Screen play has to be good for the director to bring it to life in a respectful manner for the source material, the director has to be able to film and capture the screen play on camera scene for scene, the actors have to carry the movie with their actions and dialouge or the good direction and screen play could fall flat, and the technical crew has to work hard to get everything prepared and have everything set up. Everything must be good, not one or the other, everything.

In conclusion, is it easy for WB to just release a big budget piece of crap and still get a crap load of money? Hell yeah it is! Stuff like that happens everyday. I hated X3, I could barely stand Spidey 3, and I walked out on FF4: ROTSS, but they still made money. Why? becuase big budget films with all those big heroes will attract a big crowd regardless.

The concept of Superman and Batman finally together on film alone is going to put asses in seats, but I would appreciate it if when my ass is in one of those seats, that when I remove it from that very seat I can head back to my car knowing that was money well spent to see the JLA film.

I agree with most that say it must be "everything" but I will also say that you can have a mediocre script and a director can make it extrodinary. And sometimes a great screenplay can overcome a rather mediocre direction. But I do not think the actors unless they are involved in the film exceptionally ie producers that they can elevate the movie if it has a crappy script or director.

The director. He influences everything else.

I can totally see Brody as Barry Allen. He and Common are the ones that I have complete faith in. Gale looks the part, IMO, but I'm not sure she can act. Maybe Hammer was cast as Superman and Cotrona was cast as Batman? It might work bettert that way....

Great post, bud.

That's a tough one cause they are all important but a great director can really help an unknown cast shine.

Thanks. Brody has kinda grown on me and I agree Common is a great choice. Gale the more manips I see I kinda can get behind her as WW. She has that natural amazon look. To be honest, and I might not like it, but they can cast whoever they want. I just want the movie to be good.

Then there is an old saying:

"You can't polish a turd..."

Sometimes one can't expect a competent director to shape this questionable casting. And that's just one of the things that's wrong with this project.

No he might have been an okay director but with one of the most horrible direction in modern movie history. A director, if he is working close enough to the script writer, can **** up the process just as much as if you where to start off with a great script with great fundementals. X3 had written down on it some very much more fan favorable things that would have made many procieve it better (ie Phoenix fire bird) but it was cut because of poor direction and poor studio suport.

Except that the directing and acting was just as bad as the screenplay.
