Which one do you like better the vintage one or the 90s modern Mc Farlane?

I love the vintage one...always have.

I love how it makes him look more creepy and mean....like hes thinking, you do not wanna **** with me.

Oh, by the way this is sketch art for the Lobe and Campbell Spidey thing there doing.

Awesome art, where did you get it from?

Hyperlink?

And I like JSC's take on Ditko best out of the two.

Damn better go get that issue of Wizard.

You know JSC is a legend and his MJ is badass.
He learnt how to draw women by watching porn and copying their faces.

I sooo hope they take over the reins on ASM.
That book needs saving the most.

I agree, I would love for them to do ASM.

I always wished Campbell would do that after seeing his cover run on the book.

That Wizard issues real good too.

It has a bunch of his sketches in there that look amazing.

I like the Black Cat one the best.

I prefer the larger eyed one. Pissed off Spider Man should be kept in black

Silver age Spidey all the way!

Although, I much prefer Romita over Ditko... most people do.

I like the big eyed Spidey better. Mark Bagley draws him the best.

And if you want proof head over to themanofbat's Countdown thread and check out the many Amazing Spidey covers that Bags did.

And not to mention that little title Bagley works on now...Ultimate Spider-Man.

I never cared much for McFarlanes Spidey, but I do like the version posted better than the vintage one.

The way JSC draws the two, I like the vintage look better, but overall the modern wide-eyed look is better.

McFarlane. Although I really like how Terry Dodson does the classic style eyes.

Vintage for me.

The big eyes kind make him look like an alien.

Big eyes for me.

Vintage kind of makes him look more generic. Big eyes are his thing.

Well to be more specific depends on the story... If the story is a light hearted one I'll take the big eyed one, if It's a bit more dark I'll take the Vintage look...
Y' know what would be kinda cool, one in-between version...

I prefer the bigger eyes but ive never been a massive fan of Mcfarlanes Spidey

Can you post the sketches? I can't find this issue in stores.

Can't really judge "vintage" by that picture.

Seriously, the differences are so minute it's hardly worth even debating about. I do like the "bigger eyes", but the webbing is almost laughably similar to the point that I didn't even notice. Frankly, I think that Ditko was a great artist and I can still enjoy his work today, so I have a certain appreciation for his work that transcends minor differences. But overall, I like the "big eyes" look best.

scans please! i picked up the summer movie issue instead of #176 on accident when i went a couple weeks ago
