So which type of show are you most tired of?

Reality. Hands-down the most boring, unintelligent, and uninventive schlock ever televised. No exceptions, either. Every reality show ever has sucked massive, hairy balls.

Damn, I should have put reality. It is also an exceptable answer.
But I put Courtroom drama. I just have never cared for them.

Well, Boston Legal's one of my favorite shows right now so I disagree. Although I tend to like the out-of-courtroom stuff a lot more than the courtroom stuff.

The plain out and out, cliche genre types of those shows I can't stand. But, when it introduces something new or has a more "let's not take it too seriously and just have fun" take- then it's ok in my books.

Kind of like how 'House' is a medical drama, but it doesn't take itself too seriously- a la ER.

So, really depends on the type of show. This year more than ever because due to Prison Break- I believe- most new shows are these serialized cop dramas and such. I say due to Prison Break, because in the world of TV every year seems to be a "let's take the genre from the new hit a year before." Ex: Lost is a hit- we got LOTS of science fiction shows. Last year Prison Break was a hit, looks like this year it's cop/detective/crime/ etc. type shows.

All of the above. Tv is such a recycled medium. I watch what I want to watch & forget about the rest of them.

None of this. Family sitcoms where the husband is a fat lazy selfish ******ed duffus married to a skinny intelligent self-sacrificing supermodel.

Agree with you on that one dude. Some of the shows in these genres can be great, but only if they bring something new to the table.

Whatever happened to Boston public? First of its kind. Teaching drama

Every superficial, shallow reality crap that's on MTV. I just feel bad for watching it sometimes.

Not a drama, it's a bit more of a comedy actually.
Other than Law and Order: SVU, courtroom dramas have kind of been played out.
If reality was up there, i'd vote for it.
However, i do like the Osbournes and reality shows of that nature.

BL tends to balance its comedy and drama pretty well, I think. Granted, the drama portion of it usually comes down to Denny's issues with Alzheimers or the uber-liberal pontification that has become the standard for David E. Kelley shows spewing from Alan's mouth, so I tend to view it more as a comedy too.

I thought TV was pretty much a safe haven for literally every crime/procedural show ever conceived to get aired at least once for the past decade, actually. Law & Order, CSI, The Shield, and the other 30 cop shows that have been on since before Prison Break are a testament to that.

I agree, that format is sexist and out-dated now. Thats why I love "Roseanne". Dan and her were portrayed as equals intelligent-wise, clothes-wise, and in their general appearence. And the kids were portrayed as real middle class kids that would burp at the table, talk back to the parents, etc. UNLIKE kids are portryaed now as rich little brats that say "like" after everyother word and are stupider than a box of rocks....*sigh* That show was so ahead of it's time.:up:

I don't watch any of these: Forensics,Police Drama,Courtroom Drama,Political Drama.
I have been snagged by the mediacl dramas,I try not to but eventually I give in. I don't know if it's because I use to work in the medical field, but they are like soap operas and I enjoy getting weepy. :O
I don't like copy cat shows, they see a sucessful show and attempt to mimic it shamlessly.

No "reality show" option? Out of those though, cop/forensics shows. There's way too many.

Thats exactly what I was going to say.

You guys have really thought of some good options. When I thought of this, I was just thinking of Drama shows, when I should have considered Reality and Comedy.

Moved from Mondays to Fridays and with low ratings was cancelled. I watched the show but once it moved to Fridays I don't think I saw much of it. We'll see how Law & Order does, after spending I believe its entire run since 1990 on Wednesday nights, when it moves to Fridays.
