Which Video Game World Would You Live In?

It'd be like living in an oven.Even the NCR soldiers doesn't like it...heh

But...But...they've got radioactive cola's!

But in all likelyhood, as much as we wish that we'd be some badass lone wanderer, we'd probably be nothing more than water beggars in that world..hehe

Maybe you're right. I'm more for the cold anyway. I wouldn't want to live anywhere near DC though. Deathclaw sanctuary a few klicks north? Nuh-unh. :(

Well maybe after my guy went through and cleaned up the game. Clean water, 99% of the raiders gone, enclave gone, deathclaws wiped out.

Probably the Pokemon universe. They have advanced technology, and it seems like a completely peaceful place outside of Pokemon fights where even the Pokemon themselves are rarely injured.

I must ask, before or after Mass Effect 3?

Defintely before.

I remember on my 1st playthrough, i was on a forum and asked around for tips...places to go and such. and one guy replied: 'there's this one cool place you should visit! up north! a place called Old Olney!'...bastard!

Anyway i think that NV isn't THAT bad place to live, actually. The capital wasteland...it's pretty much a world that still licking it's wounds after being dealt a devastating blow. You're lucky if you could end up living in places like Megaton or Rivet city...outside that, you're either a predator..or a prey.

NV i think is pretty much a world that slowly getting back to it's feet. Things are already starting to resemble a 'normal world'. The NCR bringing back law, starting to introduce paper money, hell, they've even got paying jobs! there are quarry workers, soldiers and what not.

It's not that much different than being in the old west ( aside from mutants and robots , of course)

Grand Theft Auto. Get in trouble with the police? Just outrun them, or get your car sprayed.

I would stay in Liberty City, get paid bookoo thousands of dollars for whackin a someone, evade the law be leaving their line of sight. Take anyone's car, have multiple girlfriends with their own share of benefits, yep, heaven for a guy like me. I would have said Max Payne's world, but that guy gets into way too many gunfights and has to pop pills behind it, bleh

A couple of people have mentioned the Metal Gear world, but I'm not all that familiar with it. What would be the pros of living in the MG universe?

The world of Pokemon, without a doubt. It's almost a guarantee that I would be killed/mutilated in any violent video game world. I feel pretty confident that I would survive in the world of Pokemon. Unless Team Rocket turned out to be radical terrorists, blowing **** up all the time.

I don't even think I would fight Pokemon. That's fine in the game, but doing it in a "real world" setting...I'd start to feel like Micheal Vick. I'd probably just run a Pokemon ranch.

EDIT: If I had to choose a "violent" game though...I'd probably go with something like Warcraft or Skyrim and become a blacksmith.

I am, and I have no idea.

Someone else mentioned Halo. The series where 99% of the human race was obliterated.

Medicare is advanced to the point where most diseases and injuries can be fairly well treated and the standard of living is much much higher.

Old school Raccoon City
Want to see how will I survive or die. Will I face a tyrant? Am I going to be a zombie? Waht if I was turned to a guinea pig and transformed to a monster?

Another world, I'd love to be like Lara's old Butler, no matter how many bullets I receive, I keep getting up uninjured

I'd live in Red Dead Redemption because who doesn't wanna be in the wild west. Or I'd be in the Mushroom Kingdom to kick it with my boy Wario. The Pokemon universe would be cool, but I'd imagine someone unleashing a Gyarados or Charizard in real life would be ****ing terrifying.

Could only come up with a few.

Bioshock: Well, probably before Rapture went downhill. I just love the distinct art deco feel of it.

Mirror's Edge: It's so dazzlingly vibrant. It has to be one of the few oppressive dystopias I'd live in.

Video games give us some of the most awesome worlds in fiction. As great as they are though, most don't seem particularly liveable. Life in any Grand Theft Auto city would be jam packed with the daily threat of gun fights, explosions or worse. Try a walk through the wilderness in Skyrim and your day would soon be ruined by a giant spider or something bigger. Take a leisurely night stroll in Hyrule and the skeletons will have you for breakfast. Of course none of this matters if you're a bad ass, but most of us don't wander the streets with a broad sword or a flamethrower.

For the sake of fun I beg the question; If you had to live in a video game world, which would it be?
From what you say I guess they would nearly all be ultra viloent in real life compared to our current lives! So with that in mind I will say The Sims :woot:

I dunno...having someone control your every move... What if you're going for a swim and they decide to remove the ladder from the pool? :woot:

Oh so we're a victim of the gamer's wishes as well! I mean they can control the main character of any game and run them of a cliff lol. I thought we were just talking being an independent participant in a game world and in that case nearly all of them give you a life expectancy of 2 days, even if they are set in beautiful locales. Maybe I'll go for a sports game then haha.

If I was guaranteed safety, then it would be Skyrim. Imagine exploring that place for real. You would never get bored for one thing.

Hahaha! :D

Very true. I'm just messing with you, the suburban paradise of The Sims is definitely a good option...although it might take a while to learn their gibberish.

The Sims would be the absolute *worst* option.
Everyone there, including you, would have the worst bladder control problems ever, and would have to take a whizz literally every five minutes....and usually you won't make it to a close enough bathroom anyway before your "accident." (I have a feeling The Sims' universe stinks to high heaven of urine. Everywhere.)

Word. If I actually lived in any of these "worlds" I would assume I would be a badass at whatever the character was at, so being a badass gunslinger would be a blast.

World of Warcraft....I had a subscription for two months, and that was like five years ago, but if I'm going to take my chances as a random participant in a world that looks like a pretty exciting one.

If I have some choice in the matter I would pick the life of a fighter pilot in the old Wing Commander games.

Max Payne's, circa 2001 in New York City during the worst winter storm of the century.

Or The Capital Wasteland like others have mentioned. In my own way I'm a wanderer so it's fitting.
