Not at all.Does anyone else think that Spider-Man whistling his own theme song ruined the scene where he webs up Aleksei?

It felt so unnecessary. You can easily tell that it was added post.Yup, aparently they added that post-production...it felt just![]()
Never said there was anything wrong with nods to other Spider-Man media. But Spider-Man whistling just felt a little off to me, like it was being forced. There's nothing wrong with nods to other Spider-Man media in the movies. The theme song was sung briefly in SM1 and SM2, Peter wore a Ramones shirt in TASM1 (they covered the Spider-Man theme song), and then the whistling and ringtone in TASM2. It didn't take me out of the movie in any of the instances. They were too brief.

Producers: Yeah, just add the classic Spider-Man theme in that scene just in case the audience forgets this is a Spider-Man movie. Oh yeah, also make it his ringtone (which plays 2 minutes prior).
I loved the lady playing the theme on her violin in SM2. So once again I guess context is important.
I just remember saying, "this scene would be a lot better without the whistling." But it was certainly the least of the movie's problems.
Sure, I can agree to that. I think the difference though is that the corny moments fit well in Raimi's movies but out of place in the Webb films.True. Can it at least be agreed upon that all five movies have had über-corny moments in them?

And yet nobody had a problem with it back then. Because Raimi.
Nah. No more than the violin lady in SM2.
So true. And yet nobody had a problem with it back then. Because Raimi.
Most people just found it to be funnier and less cheesy. In TASM2 we had a Spider-Man ringtone followed by Spidey whistling his own theme song only minutes after while webbing up a cartoon villain. And yet nobody had a problem with it back then. Because Raimi.
And it was even more annoying and cheesy in those films.
It was just as cheesy if not cheesier in the Raimi films than it was in TASM2.Most people just found it to be funnier and less cheesy. In TASM2 we had a Spider-Man ringtone followed by Spidey whistling his own theme song only minutes after while webbing up a cartoon villain.
Yes, you can, my dear. Can we like both?

Spider-Man:
Can't remember if it's featured other than the actual song towards the end of the credits. Which is fine.
Spider-Man 2:
The Asian woman singing off key with the violin was eye rolling, irritating, and corny as hell. How is this funny? Audiences laughed, I didn't. I wanted to put a sock in her mouth.
Spider-Man 3:
The song is played by a marching band when Spidey receives the key to the city. I admit it's not as bad as that Asian woman, but it was still kinda corny. I didn't really like it.
Amazing Spider-Man 2:
Peters ringtone is awesome, and it's been my ringtone since I first saw the film. It's never once implied that its a song about Spider-Man in universe. We the audience just know it because it is, it's a nice homage. I have no problem with Peter humming his ringtone. You mean to tell me that songs don't randomly pop into your head and you don't find yourself humming them sometimes, ringtone or not? Every crowd I saw the film with got a kick out of both.
