In the Times Square scene, I've always wondered why Electro didn't assume the form he had at the end of the film - in Oscorp and the sequence in which Spidey is chasing him through the city to the power plant.
He could have caused even more damage and have avoided the hose altogether![]()
I always assumed that perhaps he didn't know he had all of those abilities yet since he first got his powers then. And I think that could have been a great explanation for why he didn't take the form that he did for the final battle (power plant). The issue is that we didn't see any transformation of his character. He goes from Max Dillon to Electro in an instant. He has some powers, uses them, and gets defeated. He escapes and suddenly has the ability to disappear and reappear because Harry used a taser on him, and now he can suddenly turn into pure electricity. It never felt like a real progression.
I agree. It's about execution, not how much carnage they caused. After all Arnie's Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin put all of Gotham City on ice, but he was as threatening and menacing as Barney the Dinosaur.
If they made a movie about a smurf who destroys the universe then it wouldn't be any more intimidating. "Today's my birthday... now it's time for me to light my candles!"
Seriously though, what was the point of the whole birthday thing?
