The worst minsconceptions that people can have about you

I always thought you looked like Elijah Wood...

I don't see it personally, but I've lost count of how many times I've been told that....

I had one customer tell me I looked like Tobey Maguire (personally, I'd rather get the Elijah comparisons), and a friend told me I looked like Harry Potter (but I had my glasses on, which I hardly ever do).

I could see those too.

Well all of those three have gotten mistaken for each other, so I guess it figures.

That im gay because basically all my friends are girls,Im huge into fashion and because Im a huge Gaga fan.Now i can see why people think that, but really, its just a dumb stereotype.. Well, thats far from. Im not friends with most guys because a)most of them are asses B)Lack of common interests(im not a sports guy at all). And the girls I am friends with are NOT prissy girlie girls. I can be real with them(not like im not real infront of other people). One of my best friends is actually my cousins girlfriend believe it or not. Shes just someone I share alot in common with and who pretty much really knows me. I came to this point in my life where I really dont need alot of friends, just the close few. Now that I will be starting college, I know im gonna meet alot more people who are like me. And also, I just dont give a crap what people really think of me. I know who I am and who my real friends are.

And I love Gaga and I dont care who knows it. And my love and admiration for her is far beyond her music.

Herp,Derp,Derp Derp Derp Derp Derp. Not you, them.

I feel the same way as you do when it comes to dudes, but I would replace number 3 with the fact that I think girls are more acceptable than dudes,in general, but you gotta watch out for those girls who think that you automatically want to get in their pants(just because you're not fond of being pals with guys in general) down the road, taking themselves a bit too seriously they are. :whatever:

That's what I mentioned in one of my first posts about how so many people like to have trivial and pointless conversations about nothing. Over time i've come to realize a lot of people just like hearing the sound of their own voice which is why when you see a few overly extroverted types together they tend to interupt and talk louder than each other. It's quite humorous.

Same here, especially with the unintentional stern look. A few lady friends of mine in the past had told me that a lot of their gfs thought I was cute or hot but I never noticed because most girls never came up to talk to me. My sisters and those same female friends of mine then mentioned it's because i'm intimidating.

I was thinking WTF after they said that. I don't get how a guy who is 5' 8" and back then in high school I only weighed around 115lbs. Yeah...that's real intimidating, not to mention full of **** when you see the same girls talking to some big dudes who can bash their face in with one hard backhand and are clearly the type of *******s that would do that.

Geesh,I hate to possibly be scaring you again, but that too sounds close to how I was back in the high school days.

The biggest misconception is that I fall into a certain group mindset of thinking. I'm eclectic, so I really don't think or act one specific way. Sometimes people think I'm some science nerd at times, then some people think I'm older than what I am because I write often.

Some people think I'm younger than I am because I joke a lot and don't really conform to strict lines of thinking in regards to age.

Some people think I'm liberal, but others think I'm conservative.

None of that bothers me except music for some reason. I really hate it when people think all that I listen to is R&B just because I sing those songs more. Hell one of my ringtones is from Styx, another is from Miles Davis, and one is from a damn video game. Don't lump me into one musical category dammit!

I agree with all of this, and the fact that this man sounds like Darth Vadar.

Pfft... typical rant for someone with a hyphenated name...

Mine was when I got the most votes for the most predictable person category at work back in 2008,a key person said the votes for categories aren't meant to be taken seriously, but I don't care and I don't think that anyone held their opinions back. I don't think that is was the worst one,but do think that it is one of the worst ones.

So yeah, just throw out a misconception about you that bugs you.

Depending on what you do. Just show up to work in a duck costume. That should stop the predictability stuff.

People that I am arrogant. Which I am not. But because I have strong opinions, & dont hold back. That is percieved as arrogant these days.

A misconception about me? Some people seem to think I'm younger than I am because of my smaller stature.

I frequently get told I don't look 25. People think I'm in high school.

People who assume that because I'm schizophrenic I'm weaker than them. A person could have the strongest will in the world but if they have a chemical imbalance in their brain they'll crack anyways.

You can't out-will brain chemistry. It would be like trying to be unaffected by a powerful acid trip.

Hahaha! Nothing scary about it. When you can meet people from all over the world on the internet, you're bound to bump into people very similar to yourself.

I suppose it's better than looking older than you are, but I've had people not believe when I tell them I'm in college.

Oh gosh, where do I start?

People think I'm a jerk, but my father says I have the driest humor there ever was. Takes people a while to realize I'm usually just screwing with them.

They think I'm some sort of animal because I have long hair, I'm pretty tall and decently built have trained in karate since 5 and taught for the past 8 years and play metal. They just assume I'm some sort of crazy berzerker.

Someone at work disputed my name, which is Jennifer, but I usually go by just "Jen." But I grew up a "Jenny," and I still get called that by most of my family and just about everyone I knew pre-high school.

But we were talking about nicknames at work, and this one person said "You are so not a 'Jenny'!"

I got so annoyed about that, because that's always been my name. And I always thought it fit, and it does. That comment always bugged me for some reason.

Maybe anytime this person hears 'Jenny'...he hears it the way Forrest Gump said it?

It was a she, actually, and considering her taste in movies I'm sure she thought Forrest Gump was beneath her. :whatever:

I'm polite - some people misconstrue this as actual interest in them or in their problems.

Then of course when I am actually interested they tend to misconstrue that as wanting a "long term relationship"...
