Which series will be remembered more? The 80's/90's series or the current series.

I think the current series because it's much better in quality, to tell you the truth the only last pre-BB I liked was the '89 flick.

Purely generational.

Older fans will likely best remember the Burton flicks most. In large part to Batman 1989 being THE movie to see that summer. As Batmania was simply off the charts that particular year. And even though Batman Returns box office wasnt that of it's '89 predecessor, it was still the top grossing movie of 1992.

And younger Batfans will likely, and rightly so, remember the Nolan flicks the most. For numerous reasons of course.

Exactly. Generational. Anyone who says something different is out of their mind.

When the franchise gets restarted yet again, the current franchise will be ridiculed as inferior.

If quality determines what lives on, then I say Timm will reign supreme among Batman fandom long after Begins has come and gone. Begins is a good action film, and Burton did an excellent job of making a quirky yet artistic take on the character. When it comes down to it though, the perfection that is Timm outshines them all. No other writer/director/producer team like the one from BTAS has ever rendered every character with such perfection before. Although most fans may not realize it, the Batman they read today in the comics owes much of his current incarnation (of several key characters) to the likes of Kevin Conroy, Mark Hammil, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and the many others who brought us that wonderful show.

In popular culture, the 60's TV show and the 1989 movie, simply because the had the most impact on pop culture.

I say the Burton films because they got the franchise started. Even today people remember Michael Keaton as Batman. The Burton universe will have a long lasting legacy.

The future of Batman will continue to get better imo, at least in movie form. Give it time, I have faith that the TDK will blow people away.

I would like to say current, and I think that by true fans that is the one that will be remembered more, but overall (general public)it'll be the 80's-90's.

That's what really set the standard for comic movies, and most non bat-fans I know are freaking still asking me if they're just gonna remake all the old movies. Then I'm always like, "Freaking NO! They're not 'remaking' ANY of the old movies! GOD!"

The public sucks.

How can you say? Begins has only been out three years and The Dark Night is still two months form it's release date and you can't judge what movies will hold up after a few decades; what can seem unbelieveably great today could seem like carbage in 10-20 years time.

The Burton movies have already stood the test of time but we don't yet know if the Nolan ones will.

Yep, couldn't have said it better.

I don't know about TDK, but I feel the younger crowd might find Burton's/Schumacher's films for "entertaining" for the time being as they have more action and are just more fantasy-like. I sorta see the Nolan films as a "batfan all growed up" type thing.

I think we will have to wait for response to Dark Knight when it is out. With all the current hype already on the Joker and Ledger being dead before the movie is even out, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes down in history (think: the Crow). but it has been almost 20 years and a lot of people STILL prefer the Keaton era.

I needed a laugh today, thanks. :o

Believe it or not, it probably will be the 60's version. It just had a major influence over pop-culture. I hear people all the time saying "riddle me this" or "holy ______, Batman" just out of habit.
