Who created the following characters first: Marvel or D.C.?

Marvel's made more money all-time than DC?

I find that kinda hard to believe given the whole bankruptcy thing from a decade ago. Of course, the Spider-Man movies probably jacked their revenue up through the roof.

Do I have proof? No. Marvel outsells DC every month in terms of the comics, and their movies are bring in more money. In the last ten years, they've had a lot more movies bring in record profits, as well. I'd be willing to guess that Marvel makes money than DC, despite DC having more money at their disposal.

Oh yeah, Marvel definitely makes more money currently than DC.

But all-time, I'm not so sure about.

Marvel didn't need to get bought out to succeed though.

DC started off much stronger, and has LASTED longer than Marvel at a few points in history, but if I remember correctly, Marvel has pretty much in "recent" years, been pulling ahead. Especially after the movie boom.

Because, in all honesty, if you see a movie about Spider Man, you're probably only going to collect Spider Man, and Spider Man related comics, eventually branching out into the rest of Marvel, and THEN if you stick around enough, onto others.

I call it the AOL effect.

I agree, but then DC used to use money and lawyers to crush competition, (not that marvel is a saint) to make sure they stayed in front.

I love how people bring up the Marvel bankruptcy thing, but never the fact that DC is backed by Warner Bros.

I could own you Phere, but I won't betray an ASSHAT brother.

Read the thread.

Technically, Elongated man wasn't created by DC. They eventually bought his character.

Is an asshat like what these women are wearing?
