something i've always wondered when with the change of the newest milenium, did the way we said the year change. it didnt with any others

i mean pervious years were always spoke of in two seperate numbers eg nineteen nighty four(1994) or seventeen seventy six (1776) so why have the new ones been refered to as two thousand and four or two thousand and seven rather than twenty oh seven:huh:

I say two thousand seven. Or O-seven. When we reach higher years, I'll probably say twenty whatever.

You know, you're right. That's odd. I guess I'll start saying 20-07. Seriously, I will.

because it's the right way to way it!! *sigh*

Do you pronounce 1902 as nineteen-two.

because this is how you will say the years

IN THE YEAR 2000!

Once it's 2010. we'll be saying it like "twenty ten" It's just because saying "twenty o 7" sounds stupid

Plus back in 1907 they said nineteen hundred and seven, not nineteen oh seven, the Victorians would have thought you were on crack

i say once 2010 roles around people will wise up and start calling it "twenty ten"

Thing that gets me is THE 80s THE 90s what the hell are we in now?

if you were french, you would be happy

1997 was "dix-neuf cent quatre-vingt dix-sept" whereas 2007 is "deux mille sept"

that's everywhere
here 1997 was o mie noua sute noua zeci si sapte 2007 is doua mii sapte, just like in french

Its the Noughties.
No-ones thought of a better name yet and its 2007 already, so the name will stick.

It's something I haven't thought about.

Probably because it's pointless.

The 2000's will likely be called the "Twenty Hundreds" when the 3000's come. But that's far off...lets see if the planet lasts that long, ok? :D
