Who gave the best Performance in The Departed (2006)?

Out of the 4 main male cast members, who in your opinion gave the best performance in The Departed (2006)?

Di Caprio for me. His performance has more meat and depth than the others who kinda all play 1 note characters.

Nicholson for me. That was the show stealer.

DiCaprio for me, but that said they were all magnificent. And this list is not even mentioning Martin Sheen's, Vera Farmiga's and Anthony Anderson's work, which was also outstanding in that film.

I voted for Dicaprio, but honestly it's almost a tie between him and Nicholson. There are so many great performances in that movie though. I especially love Mark Wahlberg's and Alec Baldwin's performances. Before that movie I honestly can't remember a single film that had me laughing so hard that wasn't a straight up comedy and the combination of Nicholson, Wahlberg and Baldwin had a lot to do with that.

Baldwin gave a brilliant performance in that film, I agree. It was top notch work from everyone involved.

Damon was actually the other actor I considered for the top spot. I imagine it would be hard to play that character

Baldwin and Wahlberg were endlessly entertaining and had the killer lines. I still quote "Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe **** yaself" to this day.

But in terms of pure acting, its gotta be Leo.

They're all great but I went with Damon. He and DiCaprio had the meatiest roles but I feel like this was one of Damon's best ever, where it's just reliable DiCaprio.

Voted for Damon. Leo did a great emotionally tortured cop caught between two extremes, but Damon did such a great subtle lowkey performance as "the bad guy" in the movie, it's very underrated.
