No, it's a vote held by EW that 25,000 people voted for.

Yes, exactly! And who reads Entertainment Weekly?

Indeed. I do agree that THE DEPARTED is an excellent film.

People who are interested in entertainment and the arts? Like me?

I've been subscribing to EW for almost seven years. I love it. And yes, The Departed was easily the best film of the year.

I mean, folks, I think my sister reads this magazine sometimes.

Pan's labyrinth is my number 2 of the year, and just about every critics number 1.

Okay, so are you trying to subtly call EW gay or something by saying that your sister reads it? Because if so, than your sister is probably much more intelligent than you.

Dan33977 said:

How can you say that? The magazine has specific sections for film, television, music, literature, and theater every week, as well as covering news in general entertainment.

I don't think you've ever picked up the magazine.

*sighs*

No, I'm not. The people who read this magazine just watch pop-culture, Hollywood blockbusters since they're most accessible and easiest to understand.

I can roll with that, I agree

but there are folks on here who say fans outside of themselves, think that DMC was a bust, and this is living proof that 26 percent of movie fans that read EW think it is the best movie of the year

Okay, you definitely haven't read EW before. Visit the website. Pick up a copy or something.

Sure they cover Pop Culture, but just Hollywood blockbusters? No.

All kinds of movies. EW covers indie and arthouse films on a regular basis. Ask your sister. She'll tell you.

was the survey just a selection of a few films for them to tick? This is very much a mainstream sort of survey, missing out really!
