Who has better developed characters: DC or Marvel?

Never once have I claimed to be objective. I'm right and he's wrong.

That's nice... but I live my life by "I'm right and YOU're wrong"; threfore, you're wrong and I'm right.

:yay:

See, you don't know what you're talking about. Your opinion is automatically biased, because if you read a bit more from other characters, you'd know that DC characters are the same way.

Batman collects first edition books and hangs out on armature detective message boards.
Superman loves Beef Bourgeois with Ketchup.
Hal Jordon is terrible with money and is always bumming cash off of people.
Guy Gardner owns a bar.
Jack Knight is an antiques collector.
Hell, freaking Copperhead, collected transistor radios.

Not well developed? wtf are you talking about? Can you say the same for Doc Ock? What does the Sentry like to do besides be crazy? Do you know how many stories have been done on Supes, Bats, WW, in efforts to explore their psyche? Your opinion doesn't count until you've proven you actually know what you're talking about. :p

Anub-owned. :o

It amazes me how this myth of DC's characters being nothing more than shallow imitations of real human beings outside of their costumes has persisted for so long.

:up::up:

They both do.
I think DC gets a bad rep cause they're suppose to be your father's heroes and Marvel is the young hip ones. Kind like Matchbox vs Hot wheels. Especially with Superman being their flagship character and he's suppose to be nothing but a boy scout, but that's wrong. Barry Allen who was suppose to be the most boring of the flashes killed his arch emeny Zoom. Speedy/ Red arrow was a drug addict. Green Lantern slew all his Green Lanterns compatriots as parallax. Red Tornodo wishes to be human. The list goes on.I think those speak volumes of characterization. I'm a Marvel only cause that was the 1st book i every got , but to say one has better developed characters over the other isnt right when they both do.

Personally, I don't think Peter really has any "spare" time... when he's not dealing with life's normal problems, he's on patrol... constantly, and then he goes home to sleep.

But claiming that Bruce Wayne is a better developped character because a writer decided to make him a book collector as a side note is not real development... and truth be told, Bruce Wayne is only the facade that the Batman uses when he's not busy being the Batman.

:yay:

Well put, TMOB. I agree 100%. Especially about the Batman bit. Bruce Wayne doesn't need to be super layered...because Bruce Wayne is just the mask now. But Batman, the actual caped and cowled figure, should be the more developed of the two, which he is...which I guess means Bruce Wayne is also developed...

Confusing...but somehow that makes sense.

Which means i'm right and you're wrong. Deal with it.

That's nice... but I live my life by "I'm right and YOU're wrong"; threfore, you're wrong and I'm right.

:yay:

Yeah but your opinion doesn't count because you're a stinky poopy head. So I'm right, and you exist in some vacuum of nothingness where people have poop on their heads.
