Between DC, Marvel, IDW, and other companys; which do you think is better when it comes time to put their stories in trade form?

Vertigo and Image. They put the trades out quickly, go directly to paperback (most of the time), and sell them at prices that won't intimidate new readers. In short, they want to encourage people to buy trades instead of punishing them for trade-waiting like Marvel and DC (for the DC Universe stuff).

I will say, though, that Marvel does a great job with the presentation and quality of their books. I've bought three Marvel Omnibuses and all of them were very well done. DC's Deluxe hardcovers are nice too, but I'd still rather have paperbacks sooner.

I checked out several of the New Krypton trades from the library recently and noticed all the hardcovers have a $25 cover price, even the ones that only have 5 issues. What the ****, DC?

Vertigo seems to have lagged a lot lately to me. The actual amount of time behind series end and trade is getting kind of long. I know it was something like 4-5 months after the series Daytripper ended that the TPB finally came out.

Marvel is better at including one-shots and supplemental material related to the trade's main storyline, i.e. the amazing spider-man trades.

Both DC and Marvel both take way too long to publish the trades though.
