So, I'm new to the comics. Just got done reading "Knightfall" the third omnibus, and I'm left with two questions. One of them is not terribly important. The other is the thread title.

WHO THE FRAK IS JEAN-PAUL VALLEY?

Where did he come from? What's his story? Where did he go?

Wish they would have given some background on him. Not as if I liked him in any respect. He was like a tool that served his purpose, nothing more.

The other Q is... did they ever explain just how the frak Bruce got healed? How Tim Drake's father got home? What happened to the Doc Lady Bruce had a hard-on for when he was gimped?

I mean, I'm thinking maybe they skipped a few books in the omnibus reprint? Yes? Cause from Book 2 to Book 3 it's like... "Uh, huh? What?" And where the frak was Alfred for the entire third book, too?

Also wondering how they ever used Bane again. I mean... he knows Batman is Bruce Wayne... which just... I mean... *confused*

:P

I could have done THAT!

I was hoping for something more fan-to-fan :P

Well all your questions are answered there. I know it is kind of text-book, but still is very very useful for getting all the information quickly.

Frak - I'm going to use that. Hahaha. That's hilarious.

Is there a trade paperback of the missing gap in Knightfall? Or perhaps Jean Paul Valley's past?

No offence but have ya been living under a rock :P ..its ok if ya don't know.

You've never heard Frak? :wow:

It started on the old crappy campy 1979 show "Battlestar Galactica" but no one cared one iota about it back then. But they trashed the old and made a totally new Battlestar series in 2003, and it's awesome as hell. Dark, gritty, depressing, action-packed, hot chicks. It's very popular, and it revived "frak" and I just read an article the other day from the LA Times that "frak" has become so popular it's gone main-stream. Shows like "the Office" and such have begun using it on occasion, as it's a way to say "****" without saying the word. The censors can't stop "frak" and it's meaning it clear, but it's much more "polite" so no one can get bent out of shape for you screaming "FRAK OFF, MOTHER FRAKKER!"

Go read Knightfall vol. 1-3

Did. He's just... there. No explanation of where he came FROM. :p

Yeah, I can't believe they left that out. LAME.

Hey, I just busted my comic book cherry a few weeks ago. :p I'm still virginal-ish on comics! Don't ride me rough!

Batman: Sword of Azrael introduces you to Jean-Paul Valley and the Order of Saint Dumas which is what he is a part of.

lol I read that when I was in fourth grade that was more than 10 years ago probably 15.

Since no one really answered his questions, I'll give it a go.

For who Jean Paul Valley was, just look up the wiki on him. He also went by Azrael, and was a major part of the Bat-Family during the 90's. He was also a f**king bad ass.

They also explained all the questions about Bruce getting healed and such in a story called KnightQuest. The way the Knight trilogy originaly went was this...

KnightFall
KnightQuest
KnightsEnd

Volumes 1 and 2 of the trades collect all of KnightFall, then volume 3 collects all of KnightsEnd. KnightsQuest went on for a good year across all the Batman titles, and was a hell of a lot of books, and has such never been collected in a trade, unfortunately. The single issues are also hard as hell to track down. I have all of Fall and End in single issues, but not a single Quest one.

As for Bane, they eventually turned him into a hero, and then back into a villain recently, and now he's on the new Suicide Squad.

There are a couple of prequels to Knightfall.

You should start with:

Sword Of Azrael & Vengeance Of Bane.

Thanks, I really need to look up more of this stuff, my collection isn't exactly the best conrinuity-wise. Are they both good and is Vengeance of Bane a released paperback?

Also, is there a released GN that has Harold's origin?

No, there's not. I believe it's from The Penguin Affair story arc though.
