I am going to become a director/screenwriter.

I am living overseas, but when I leave school (I am 16 right now), I will fly to US, where I will be living.

If there are guys like me, I would like to know more about them and take some vey useful advices (even about education in foreign country like America).

So... Anybody? :)

Where do you live right now? Because America is not the only place for opportunity in the film industry.

Now I live in Russia and I hate russian movies. They have stupid scripts, dumb dialogues and terrible actors :down

well i want to be a casting director...

Thinking about becoming a screenplay writer. I do it only for fun currently but the idea has grown in my head and now I'm looking at film schools in Ontario. All the good schools are in B.C though and anyone that isn't up to speed with their Canadian geography....thats across the country.

Oh...and in case anyone is intrested. I have the first scene of my current script (its for school) posted in the fan fiction and film section...

Even though my career is going in a completely different direction, I wouldn't mind having a bit part in a movie.

Want to be an actor.

What type of thing do you want to do? I stay in the UK and next year I'm going to Uni in Edinburgh, I plan on becoming a filmmaker too. The course I'm taking is called 'Photography, Film and Imaging'.

Where you go to study depends on what type of thing you want to make. America is good for big Hollywood blockbusters, but art films and independent film companies can get squashed a little in the crush.

Could anybody advice me some film schools or cinematography colleges in LA?

Yes, I too want to be a director/screenwriter/actor and I live in the UK and can't wait to start in the US, But It's gonna be one hell of a hard time getting there.

I am thinking about thrillers, dramas and art house movies.

Why exactly hollywood? Well, I think because it is the only way how to become a famous and respectable filmmaker.

I want to become a director/ screen writer. But I'm happy here in England. I'm not too keen at present to make a Hollywood movie.

England is a great place to make a film. :)

im starting to realize that i do want to become a director after all these years of just using film making as a hobbie of mine. So im thinking of changing my major from pol. science to film but this would also mean that i would have to transfer to UCLA (not a big fan of LA) so ill see what happens...i really wish my current school (fresno state) offered a film degree.

I don't plan on leaving Canada in search of a career. I'd be very happy doing low budget Canadian films that no one really sees. Or even better writing a Canadian TV series.

**** going to America you have a much better chance of making it in the Uk our industry is really taking off.

I am trying to get into the screenwriting business. I am currently trying to sell/option all three of my scripts.

My 1st script (feature length) is at So You Wanna Sell A Script's Script Marketplace. It is also at a company but no word back from them.

My second script (short film) is at a company, but no word back from them.

My thrid script (feature length) is in the 2006 All Access Screenwriting Competition. The deadline is December 15th for that. Quarter Finals are annoucned in the link below on Jan 15th 2007. (First two rounds aren't announced)

I wrote all three scripts this year. (Wrote two long hand drafts which were very bad last year for my first script) I am currently planning my fourth script and look to begin typing it soon. (On or before Feb 1st 2007).

I use Movie Magic Screenwriter to write my scripts in. I have all three of my scripts registered under WGAe or WGAw.

Good Luck, Cinemaman!

I wanna be a actor.

I am currently in the process of finishing up my screenplay and thinking about other aspects about what characters look like and so on and so on.

Vancouver is the new Hollywood.

That's very true, but for how long? I know a couple months back, the US dollar was going down, but I may be wrong.
