Patrick Ewing was and will always be my favorite athlete growing up.... He was the best jumpshooting Center in the NBA during his time and if it weren't for his bad knees... and lack of a sufficent team early on in his career, I know he would have brought a championship to NY.

And nowadays as a Knick fan I miss Patrick more than ever.....

Joe Montana. Then when he went to the Chiefs I quit football for a while because I was pissed. Sucks since I found out years later that Steve Young was hella good. It was the Garcia/T.O. era in SF by time I came back to Football and really started following again.
