If Deadpool is much more profitable than XM:A - and it potentially could be given the buzz surrounding the film and its very low cost - that could play a major role on the direction of the X-Men series going forward.

Like they're gonna be able to sustain that type of budget. Especially if they're adding X-Force characters and who knows who else.

Apocalypse is out this year so whatever happens will depend on apocalypse, they won't hold off while they wait to see the reception to gambit and new mutants that probably won't have even started filming by the time apocalypse is released

What if a few days before Apocalypse comes out, Singer announces Phoenix Saga Part I and Part II coming out the same years as Infinity War?

*Whistles* That would be something. I'd be freaking ecstatic.

Not only would we be getting an overdue, do over of The Dark Phoenix Saga in live action, it would also mean that 2019 would see Phoenix Saga Pt. 2, Infinity War Pt. 2, and possibly Justice League Pt. 2.

:hmr::hmr::hmr::hmr:

Now, I hope that happens. I got a feeling he'll announce something before Apocalypse, same way he did with DOFP before that came out.

On the one hand, I think it'd be great, on the other hand, the constant bickering online over which movie is going to be better could be annoying.
I can already foresee the X-Men bashing. Gah.

I really don't want see "Part I" "Part II" in the titles of X-Men films. They should think of something different. The first could be called "X-Men: Phoenix" then the next one as "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" and if they want a third one, they could call it "X-Men: Dark Phoenix Rises".

I'd say Clan Akkaba as emissaries for Apoc and under them Mr. Sinister.

The Alliance of Evil and Dark Riders are directed by Clan Akkaba and of course, the Marauders are under Sinister.

I would also be open to the next three X-films after X:A being standalone films with a loose connection between them. Miscellaneous adventures to the Savage Land, dealing with different kind of villains like Moses Magnum, Count Nefaria & The Ani-Men or Proteus.

now one you quoted is saying deadpool will be more successful than Apocalypse.all i have to say is lol

If you would like a quick and dirty tutorial on the difference between revenue and profit, and how BO success is ultimately determined by the latter, I'd be glad to help. lol.

What do you mean by successful? If you just mean based off of how much box office money each one will bring in than yes, Apocalypse is definitely going be more successful. If we're looking at initial investment leading to actual profit, than Deadpool is probably going to win that one. The Wolverine is this franchise's most profitable film and there's a reason why they're using that same formula for Deadpool.

That doesn't mean they aren't still going to make a crap-ton of money from Apocalypse. Making smaller films like The Wolverine and Deadpool helps them produce bigger films like DoFP and Apocalypse.

Yeah, DOFP needed at least 500m to break even. Wolverine needed half of that, and Deadpool needs like 120m.

For mutant villains, I want to see Mr. Sinister and his acolytes, Omega Red, Onslaught.

For human villains, Graydon Creed, the Human Council, Friends of Humanity.

It depends how they handled it. They developed Professor X and Magneto so much, that a combined form of them would actually be something. It wouldn't feel like some random villain they had to defeat in the film.

Omega Red

I want him for a Wolverine film.

What about Sinister and Sauron at the Savage Land like the episode "Reunion" from TAS?

Sinister and the modern day re-emergence of the Hellfire Club with Phoenix elements.

I want Mr. Sinister, but sounds like it will be Phoenix.
Big NO to Onslaught, no more focus on Xavier and Magneto please. Also it's end of their trilogy, now young X-Men will have their time.

I wouldn't read anything into the Phoenix concept. It was basically someone asking if they could do a Phoenix story and he responded with "sure, why not." He's saying nothing's off the table, not that it's next.

Even if they were doing a full Phoenix story, there would need to be another villain in there to drive the plot up to at least a certain point.

I do think Sinister is the most likely to be chosen. The various human supremacist villains all kind of blend together to me; I don't think there's much new ground to explore there, cinematically.

The U-Men would be a pretty good twist if they go with another human villain. They were pretty good in the X-Men anime and they ended actually being controlled by Mastermind from the Hellfire Club.

Mr Sinister is my hope, I'm dying to see him onscreen.

Shi'ar would be awesome, but probably not for the next movie.
