Since Season 1 Smallville has created a patern with one of the cast members either Dying or leaving .

Season 1 - Whitney Fordman left

Season 2 - Whitney is killed

Season 3 - Pete Ross leaves "Smallville"

Season 4 - Jason Teague is killed

Season 5 - Jonathan Kent dies [He really shouldn't have died]

Season 6 - Lionel or Chloe

i think it's looking more and more likely to be Lionel, if someone dies at all. i can't see it being chloe, at least i hope it's not her

Jason's mom also died in Season 4

So what were Chris Reeve and Margot Kidder's characters.

I'm thinking they may acctually kill Lana.

Remember they said in an interview that aside from Clark, Lois, and Lex; everyone else is fair game....even though, I think this will be Lionel's last season.

I think it is also safe to say that Jimmy is safe since he is a huge part in Clark's future & Martha. She has always lived a full life in the Superman Story

Lionel - dead man walking; 98% chance for death.
Chloe - even odds; 50%
Lana - ****; 30%

Don't worry Serene, I'm sure Lana is safe.

Lionel I think holds the death card this year, even though you never know, he did survive getting punched into a windshield at superspeed.

To be fair Lionel is at the moment possessed by Clarks Biological Father thats an alien dead guy :o

ROFL !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D @ {Lionel - Dead Man walking}

If Lionel ever got shot like the way it is in the godfather. I have a nagging feeling that Lex won't be like Frado. He'd be doing back flips. They he'd notice the witnesses.

Well it aint gonna be Lana cause Kreuk signed on for 2 more years of the show. Same with the other main ones. I dont think it will be anyone except maybe Lionel cause it fits with the aim of this season being a turning point for Lex. Personally I would love to see Chloe get it just to watch the internet tear a fibre optic from the raging chloe stans. But smh@ nerd boy tempting faith with this thread......

Lex will kill Lionel, since this is the "The Rise Of Lex Luthor" Season . the Comic Book Lex Luthor arrives and Lionel dies . [The Death Of His Father will compleatly push Lex to Embrace "THE DARK SIDE" , especially if Lex kills Lionel himself.] Just like in the comics, Lex kills his parents and uses large life insurance premium of his parents, to build his EMPIRE "LEXCORP" in Metropolis.

If Chloe must die, save it for the next (assumedly last) season. Don't kill off such an enjoyable part of the show just to boost ratings. Save it for the big finale season.

I'm not so cetain Lionel's a dead man walking.

I'm betting everything on Lex killing Lionel in the season finale. The son becomes the father.

I say Season 7, Chloe bites the dust .

I agree. If they do kill her it will be in season 7. They've already teased her death once in season 3/4 so if it happens it will be near the end of the show.

I would love to see a dark closure to Chloe's run in the show. Like in Season 4, there's than scene and fear of her in that asylum (or was it her mom? I forget now it's been 18 plus months). I would like to see her get crossed in trouble over Clark's identity and they throw her in a looney bin.

lionel will die in the last season protecting clarks secret by jumping in front of a bullet shot by lex.

I agree.. maybe not specifically that scenario, but that's the dynamic I see happening.

Lionel is too good a wedge between Clark and Lex for them not to use to some really dramatic extent.
