Who would you cast as Quick Kick?

A big name or a unknown actor? I would prefer a unknown.

If Quick Kick was even in a movie lineup I would make him a hand to hand instructor for the team. A guy running around without a shirt on and bare feet on missions is just dumb. At least as an instructor you can stay faithful to the character design, giving a nod to the fans and have it make sense. From there, putting him in tactical gear with a gun when it is "all hands on deck" time would not feel like a compromise.

As to who to cast? Known or unknown does not make a difference. As long as the guy can act and has "some" athletic ability you can teach him all of the martial arts he needs and stand-ins can do the rest. I mean if good director and crew can make it look like Michael Cera can fight, that illusion can be pulled off for anybody.

Tend to agree there, it would be a bit ridiculous. I mean, it's always nice to stay faithful to the source material and all but there always going to times were a compromise has to be made if the outfit doesnt really offer any practicalities or really just make much sense.

I can actually think of a situation were you could get away with Quick-Kick fighting in his 'traditional' gear in a movie - the invasion of the pit in the 1st movie was perfect for it; Quick-Kick could have been training when the attack started and whupped some ass in his old get-up as a nod to the fans, but then wears something more suitable for operational purposes later on in the movie.

Jay Chou, the dude who played Kato.

I always prefer unknowns over big stars but I don't know of any asian actors that I would cast (big or small).
