Spielberg.

He's not a jerk on set, takes more risks, and his best films are better than Cameron's. I like them both, though.

Cameron!

Spielberg is great but too often does he make movies with stupid children in them. And he seems to think the more ******ed the child behaves the more adorable and natural he/she is.

Spielberg would win an entire tournament. It's better just to leave him out and give others a chance to play.

I will have to vote for Spielberg.

Both are great and have proven that films made primarily for entertainment can have strong artistic quality, but I'm going to have to go with Spielberg as the better one.

Spielberg for sure.
Made and produced great movies, and had a huge hand in making WB animation great again.

Cameron is cool and all, but True Lies annoys me so much more than even Spielbergs worst.

Spielberg, not only has he a high batting average, but he's touched pretty much every genre and has provided a game changer film. From sci-fi, to horror to adventure to drama, to spy/thriller and wherever else he's made his mark and many of his films stand above most guys specifically known for that genre.

Spielberg definately. I like James Cameron a lot, but when you compare their most famous films, there's no contest.

Spielberg: Jaws, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones trilogy, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Hook, AI, ET.

Cameron: Aliens, T2, Titanic, True Lies, the Abyss.

But to Camerons defense though, Spielberg has a much larger resume.

I think Spielberg has made a lot more poor films than James Cameron has, its hard to compare them though as Cameron has made so few movies compared to Spielberg. I personally think no Spielberg movie is as good as Aliens, The Terminator and T2:Judgement Day respectively.

Alrighty then Spielberg it is

I'll throw in a good one

Alfred Hitchcock

Stanley Kubrick

I love them both, but Kubrick is my favourite director of all time. I never get tired of Stanley's films. I could watch the Shining, 2001, Clockwork Orange, and Paths of Glory everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of them.

While I don't like the birds and I hate the second half of Psycho(its just felt flat after the wonderful first half) I do love Rear Window.

Now Kubrick. I dig Dr.Stragelove, and I find the shining to be a wonderful comedy.

Hitchcock gets my vote. He just knew how to work it. While Kubrick was good, I don't think he was that good.

I love Rear Window, The Birds and Vertigo. So Hitchcock for me
