Why are Electical Outlets different in Other Countries?

I wonder why different countries use the voltage they do...I'm not totally sure so...can someone help me out in my knowledge quest

I agree. It's so Europeans can overcharge Americans for adapters. I knew I should have bought one before I left the country.

England has a high voltage than USA (ours is 240v) we have three pins because one of the pins is just there for safety, it open up slots where the eclectic comes out, American outlets just plug right in, so basically its all for safety
