why not make one console that'll make the parts upgradable. like the motherboard of a desktop computer?. when your grahpics chip suck? you replace it. when you processor suck? you replace it. your sound card suck? replace it. etc. so why keep buying next gen consoles?

General console users don't wanna learn how to install things. And they definitely don't wanna take the risk of unscrewing their console and taking stuff out/apart to upgrade it. That's just bad news if you don't know anything about the innerworkings of things. Like me.

thats pretty sad, i upgraded my computer with the help of some online forums and stuff. but it was'nt hard pretty easy.

Well, according to Ken Kutaragi, the PS3 is basically a computer. So, maybe you can replace crap in that piece of ****.

You're onto something here. If someone could just make one system where you click on and off parts, they'd make a crapload of money...But the parts would probably end up costing as much as the next gen consoles anyway and we'd be right back where we started but with more accessories.

dude i can understand where you're coming from. but i think the ps3 is a great console(especially the gaming part of it) for those who can afford it.(farmerfran

accessories?

Because Next Gen consoles are more powerful than most computers now a days.

Because Next Gen consoles are cheaper than computers that would have the same specs.

Because Next Gen consoles are consoles, not PC.

Because not everyone wants to have to go buy new upgrades to their systems and install them.

Want me to go on?

I could afford it, as a Xmas present :o

I don't want a PS3 or a Wii at the moment.

Because Next Gen consoles are consoles, not PC. theyre the same **** dude, difference is theres no monitor.

Because not everyone wants to have to go buy new upgrades to their systems and install them. 360: detachable hard drive, attachable dvd drive etc. seriously what do you think next gen consoles? are they not upgrades?

Want me to go on?

no,because in the end consoles and pcs are the same ****, difference is theres no monitor.

Yes sir, and proud of it  :woot:

Night y'all.

Another main reason is that I'm sure developers are pleased to know that the game they create for a console will be playable on all of the consoles. It's not like someone has to buy the upgrade to play a new game or anything, which probably helps boost sales.

No. A console will typically last you 5-7 years. A PC has to be upgraded and changed alot quicker than that and the price adds up

Consoles right now are better than computers. It's a fact.

Are you honestly telling me that a x360 at 400$ isn't cheaper than a custombuilt computer with the same specs for 800$+?

They arn't the "same ****". They're getting closer with every generation, but they're still not just computers.

360: has a detatchable harddrive, a new HDDVD drive comming out, sure. That no big deal, because you won't have to deal with upgrades every 6 months or so like you do with computers.

You're saying Consoles and PC's are the same, sans moniter. Last I checked, I couldn't run Microsoft Word on an x360, or have Trillion running on a Wii.

It would get WAYYYYYYY too expensive to keep upgrading parts on your console, that would deter more consumers than anything else.

It would cost a lot more to make a motherboard and then keep distributing upgradeable parts. Buying a whole new console is just a lot easier than buying new parts.
