Why do people always think we're in Biblical End Times?

Yeah the world was supposed to end last December but the Winchesters were on it.

what I personally find hilarious is the Niburu people are still at it!

no rogue planet/comet/brown dwarf star/whatever collided with us LAST winter solstice, when Earth was supposedly going to be making the transition on the galactic equator/plane from one side to the other (top to bottom? bottom to top? I forget which) and, like, things were supposed to happen, and the moon was moving in a different orbit, and we were getting hit with cosmic rays, and being aligned with the center of the galaxy was going to change the orbital poles of the Earth, and Ben Affleck would be cast as Batman, and all kinds of other world ending events...

of course, nothing happened...so,NOW,some of the Niburu "faithful",for lack of a better term, said they got the year wrong - of course, all this disasterous stuff will happen in winter solstice 2013!!! ( and Affleck DID get cast - maybe there's something to this?! hmmmm....)

and, when nothing happens THIS year as well, they'll push the collision back to 2015...or maybe to be safe like 2020 or 2021,to give themselves some breathing room!

our world WILL end some day! either:

A) we finally push the button and nuke all life on the planet in extinction...

or

B) something celestial hits us,big enough to wipe out life.

but even that doesn't mean an END to the world! life on this planet grew again after the extinction event took out the dinosaurs millions of years ago...

the world WON'T end until billions of years from now when the Sun begins to die,and expands, consuming the planet in it's nuclear fire. unless,of course,it happens earlier.

The circuits that result in the end-time thought processes are similar to those that validate conspiracy theories: namely, the individual feels helpless on some level(s) and evacuates their frustration and dread into an external source.
