Comics Why do the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants call themselves "evil"?

All right, I admit that I haven't been up to speed on the latest activities of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants ( I and II), but I have always wondered as to why they call themselves "The Brotherhood" when at least of three of the current members are demonstratably female- Mystique, Destiny and Rogue- this is before the latter left to join the X-Men) unless of course the majority principle rules.

Secondly why call themselves "Evil"(except in a sarcastic tone)?

2 of the definitions of a brotherhood are an alliance/fellowship and an association fr a paricular purpose. Mystique's group fits that in spite of member's gender. As for the latter part, well they were evil. Its something Mystique was fully aware of and embraced. She wasnt pretending to be out for some better cause
