Superman Returns Why Don't Some Superman Fans Like Superman Returns?

either way, we need to drop it. Now.
hey he is on my ignore list. And the fact is, this is supposed to be for those who dont like SR be able to talk. And yet, again, we have another or our threads being hijacked. Hey Kak, PM me.

this thread was not meant for only one side of the forum. buggs... they can come and go as they please. We don't own anything, just as they don't own anything either.

I am not the only one asking. There are a few people here who have asked the same question in this post. Quite a few have asked why.

I kill people by forcing to watch Batman and Robin or Superman Returns, then I grind them up and turn them into soilent green. I am the guy who yells at the neigborhood kids "get the hell off of my lawn!" I also fart in people's general direction. I let the dogs out. I sacrifice chickens by the moonlit night, and resurrect villains with paper clips. I also like to get high smoking used toilet paper. I also invented a process of turning food to methane within the body. I caused the Black Plague, and I am the Lindberger Baby.

So saying "Lester was the original Singer" and "Donner's Cut is the Superman movie of the year." is wrong and makes me a bad person?

It makes you a good person for saying that. Some people on here need to respect that. I wasn't refering to your signature, I was referring to Qwerty's signature.

This thread has become a clutter. I have no clue what's going on. Let's get back to the film.

Ahh okay. I was at a loss. I was like "huh"? Especially since you had the Defenders of Siegel and Schusters vision. Cool. Sorry I confused it for something else.

I actually watched the film the other night, or tried to, and the more I try to watch it, the more the color correction of the film just really bugs me. The azure blue and oranges really do hurt the film. I mean, I understand now that we can do digital grading and do things that we could never do in the old days on the optical printer, but still, when you go overboard, it is just really bad. It was cool when it first came out, but then TV did it so much it is getting like the bullet time effect from the Matrix. Was cool now so overdone. Kind of like the color grading crap they did on that film Domino. It is just too much sometimes. And the thing is, it didn't make the film old or timeless, it just made it look Orange.

I tried to get my friend to watch it and he could only take about 20 minutes and he said "I am glad I didn't waste money seeing this in the theater."

u know whats funny? when people who HATE the movie continue to WATCH the movie many number times...why watch something u HATE?

mind blowing.

Well, there we have it. You just said buggs was good for having negative opinions in his signature. Welcome to the wonderful word of hypocrisy!

I 100% guarantee that bugg's next reply to his thread will be referring to me making this post.

Because one of my friends came by my office to help me with a miniature, and while we were working on it, he asked me if he could watch it as he had never seen it. I threw it in and we kept working. I wasn't really watching it, but whenever I looked up at the TV, I just shook my head, and then went back to working. I kept asking him if I could stop it and put in something else. He kept asking if he could just watch a bit more, then finally he said "This is dumb. My eyes are burning. Put Superman 1 in. I haven't seen it in a while."

So he started watching that while doing his part of the miniature and he said "God this is so much better. And Clark and Superman actually have dialog, and character."

That sounds JUST like a real conversation

Let me tell you the real reason Superman fans don't like Superman Returns.

Fans of every character have their own ideas of what the character should be like. So if a film doesn't present the character in the way they like, they complain about it. Superman Returns made the 'mistake' of using a version of Superman some of the fans didn't like. So they will complain about it constantly.

It is all a matter of opinion, though. But fans rarely ever leave it at that.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Harold Pinter for fake dialogues sounding right.

The story needs some brush up.

No, he saw I had it and asked it he cold watch it. I didn't want to , but he begged me. I put it in, and just started working on the miniature. after about 20 minutes, and me repeatedly asking him if we could turn it off, he said "I am glad I didn't waste money seeing this in the theater." Sorry, I was really tired when I typed it. Been on deadline and working 20 hour days to get this thing done. But there were points where he was like "oh God!" And I said "watch. It gets worse" and then when what I wanted him to watch was over, I asked him if we could turn it off now."

Oh yeah, el payoso, I put you on my ignore list to, so I am not seeing anything you typed. Put you on it yesterday when I put Qwerty on it. So, any reply to me is a wasted one. But for some stupid reason I know you are going to post stuff to me and reply to my posts anyway even though I just told you that.

I still don't see how the story of how they chose Brandon was because of a survey of woman? Or is that only meant to be his shape? 'Cos in the documentary Bryan had Brandon audition (I've heard he was also in an audition tape for Ratner) and that's how he chose him. And also in the same documentary the costume designer asked that Brandon stop getting bigger in a meeting with Singer and others because he would rip the suits. As well as that Bryan mentioned the qualities he looked for in someone playing Superman in the "Look Up in the Sky" documentary. Basically he wanted an unknown that would look and act the part(s). There has never been mention of a survey in official documentaries. Nor have I ever seen proof. Just like those urban legends on "Supernatural". Unless someone can show me it I think I'll believe the director thought that Brandon was right for the part because that's who he thought was right for the part. I also happen to agree.

No. How they chose the body type for the muscle suit was. When Brandon was cast, he was told he could only get so big and no more to fit into the muscle suit which had already been made. If you look at the documentary, they talk about Brandon not being able to get bigger than the agreed upon body size to fit into the muscle suit. Singer also talks about it during the round table meeting about the hospital scene, if Brandon will be big enough shirtless to match how he looks like in the muscle suit. But the body style of a swimmer was the one chosen by a survey of women conducted by Warner Brothers.

Where is proof of that? Internet!Conspiracies.net? That second question was a joke but the first question remains (and isn't one).

The only real things that I ultimately had against the suit were the smaller shield on the chest, and the lack of a yellow one for the cape.
You have no problem with the high neckline and the brown color (should be red) and the hip hugger briefs?

IMO Superman's suit should make him look more masculine not feminine!

Exactly!

Ah no. They actually came out and said it. It was in the interview where they talked about the approved body type for the suit. This approved body type was based on a survey. Really this is really old news did. Catch up to speed. The muscle suits were made, and before Brandon was cast based on the approved body type from the survey, and they had to use it. They even state on the DVD, the trainer states it, and it is common knowledge. They had a pre-determined boyd type that they had to go with.

I see you're listening to our playwriting tips. Well done. Keep up the good work.

Anyway, great decision; you can't beat it, avoid it.

I see we are still replying to me El payoso. Look. You are on my banned list. You are wasting your time. I am not going to be reading your stuff. I am tired of your nonsense. I am tired of your virtual stalking here. You go your way, I and I will go mine. We aren't going to change each others minds, so there is no point in talking anymore. Go stalk someone else.

Welcome to the club! Remember Payaso, I was on that list first! :ninja:
