Why is Hype so slow?

The lag is only annoying when I lose a post. Double and triple posting doesn't bother me, and I've got that thing called patience, so waiting up to a minute () doesn't bother me.

Its horriblee and beecoming almsot impossbiel to access this site. Ive seen other baords which have had similar issues prune old threads in order to speed things up. Threads which have gotten large have been closed. Are the mods looking into any of these options?
The mods have done this, sadly, it doesn't seem to help much:csad:

Again, it's called cleaning the **** floating around and making sacrifices. Or upgrading to whatever to get some semblance of a forum going. Shut it down before May and start deleting old threads that are eating bandwidth. Until then, Ima have to find another site to talk summer movies while I wait twenty minutes between flipping pages. Peace ya'll.

Shut it down before May and start deleting old threads that are eating bandwidth.

Like I said before, they did this in 2007. As you can see, it didn't make a difference. A year later the board was crashing because of TDK fans. So, the problem is the server. Mirko needs to get a new one. The current server can't handle the people. For example, right now there's 493 people visiting this board. Can you imagine what the number will be on May 7 when Iron Man 2 open? 1,000? 2,000? 3,000?

Imagine when the next Scott Pilgrim trailer comes out. Didn't that practically crash Twitter or whatever? It'll explode the Hype. Along with talk of the movie, the final book, & then talk of the movie. Yeah.......this place needs to get fixed before then. :o

The viewer count has been the same for the past couple of years. Certainly has been lower than 2007/2008. I can understand the Hype being at a standstill after the Heath Ledger tragedy, or maybe a BB3 announcement, but it's not that busy right now.

And what part of WE THE MODS HAVE ALSO BEEN TOLD FOR OVER A YEAR THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON IT AND TOLD NOTHING MORE ABOUT IT do you not understand?

The MODERATORS have no control over or any extra knowledge about the lag than you do....we just get blamed for it and hollered at by the posters about it.

I'm not blaming anyone for it.

But it needs to be brought to the attention of the admins. And the last couple of days it has significantly improved.

If i didn't start the thread and if people didn't complain, would the lag be gone right now? I doubt it.

I think if we get rid of the Celebrity and Fandom Come forums, that would help greatly

just a suggestion

That's what I'm saying. I haven't had a problem at all since I started up this morning. No reason to freak out like the sky is falling when you experience lag occasionally. It can get ridiculous sometimes, but that's okay because even then it's no so bad and when it works well it's no problem at all.

Maybe we can donate cashmoney for a new server for mirko since we do post here for free you know. just a thought.

Things seem to be going normally for me now. But I wonder for how long though.

Just wanted to throw some kudos out there. For me anyway it doesn't seem to be lagging anymore. Good job guys.

It's funny, My wife lags when I tell her to do something and she blames it on a server issue as well. I need to get another one....

The viewer count has been the same for the past couple of years.

SHH gets bigger every year.

Certainly has been lower than 2007/2008.

I agree that 2008 was the busiest year for SHH, but the site still gets over a 1,000 guests when a big announcement is made.

but it's not that busy right now.

Not at this specific moment, but it will be when Iron Man 2 is released.

Yup, things are moving fast on my end. I feel like it's pre-2005 all over again. :awesome:

Hope this stays this way, because it says a lot of the server issues if the forums functioning on normal speeds as others actually gets us excited/relieved.

Thank ****, it seems to be moving quickly again. Last week was horrendously slow..
