Why is MySpace so full of viruses?

I just went to MySpace and nothing has came up for me. I have both a spyware program and a virus scan, so perhaps that's why.

Are you kidding? Microsoft now has their own spyware and antivirus protection subscription service that they charge for to help protect people from all the holes in theis swiss cheese operating system that should have been more secure to begin with. Either become a Linux geek or get a Mac.

I'm happy with my Norton. But, is that also crap?

It depends on who's profile you're looking at. If you friend has a virus in his/her profile then you'll get a notification. Unless, you have your program on low or medium alerts.

I have mine on high alert. Which means to tell me everything thats going on.

A lot of people view Norton products as viruses in and of themselves. They're well known to cause all kinds of problem with Windows systems and I've even heard of their products mucking up Mac's, too. I'm a bigger fan of Clam AV, which is free and updated constantly and much less intrusive on your system. There are some others out there, but Clam has always worked very well for me on the occassional Windows install.

At times I'm skeptical of free stuff.

It's free because it's opensource and some of the best sh1t going today in the world of software is opensource.
