Transformers Why is the commentary not on the single disc? Please Help!

I bought the single disc version, because I got it for a good price, and liked the artwork better. It was supposed to have the commentary on it, but it doesn't. I read that the commentary was included on all versions, but my single disc version doesn't have it. I was not aware of this when I purchased it, because everything I had read about the single disc version said it had the commentary. Is my DVD messed up or do all the single disc versions not have the commentary.

I looked under setup. The only options are English 5.1, French 5.1, Spanish 5.1., and subtitles.

No it doesn't mention any special features. This is what confused me. Before the DVD came out I read on DVD Town, DVD active, and a couple other websites that the Single Disc version had the commentary. I didn't pick up the DVD. I gave the money to someone and they picked it up for me. When they got it to me, I opened it up put it in the DVD player, and that is when I realized that the commentary wasn't on there. Because it is now opened I can't return it.

What doesn't make any sense is why they wouldn't include the commentary on the single disc version, because it is identicle to the first disc in the 2 disc set which has the commentary. It isn't like they needed the space. I don't know what the purpose of this was.

thats the trouble about asking someone to buy it for ya. in the future at least mention the person that to check the back to see of the DVD to see if it has commentary if it doesn't don't get it.

Even the wikipedia page says all versions have the commentary. I thin I got cheated or the studio lied.

My mom picked it up for me. She is not into the whole technical side of films. Asking her to look on the back of the box for a commentary would have not made her happy, because she had to pick it up during her lunch break.

Well i got a netflix and there is no special feature on the single disc. But FF2 atleast had the commentary.
I am guessing its on the 2 disc regular set. But i will say teh regular dvd quaility of the movie was pretty great quality sound and picture wise.

Do your own legwork folks, don't depend on the web, get in the car/bus/train and go to the store.

The two disc was like 10bucks more, and I hadn't planned on shellin out the extra, but then I was like...

Yeah I felt cheated in that I got the Walmart 2-disc and the movie had no commentary so I gave that one to my little brother and went ahead and bought the special edition 2-disc at Circuit City.

Are there really 4 different versions of this movie out? I think for the special edition they have the one with Optimus on the cover and another with Megatron. Most likely same movie different cover.

Was the I-Max version of the movie released as well?

Am i assuming that the white back drop cover with prime or megatron is the 2 disc set that has the regular dvd commentary with Bay on it.

Well to be honest i want to see the making of stuff cause i like commentaries and other special fetaure stuff. Is there any blooper reels on the second disc i wonder.

Most Hollywood commentaries on films like this aren't all that great, or helpful to inspiring filmmakers. Its pretty much the director saying
"I really wanted to blow up a bus in this scene so I bossed some people around and we got a bus and then I blew it up."

The best kind of commentaries are the more indie type of films where they talk more about the hardships they endured and how to get things up on screen with the little amount of money they had and what their resources were..

Probably one of my favoirtes is Bruce Campbell's commentary on The Evil Dead.

That's why Bay's "Transformers" commentary sucks. It's all about him, him, him.

Robert Rodriguez's commentaries are always like that, which is why I enjoy listening to them, as well as his "10 Minute Film School" segments.

The Cast LOTR Extended Commenatries are good and Pirates 1 with Gore and Johnny Depp. I like The Spiderman Commentaries and FF 1

Cast commentaries can be pretty funny when they're all making fun of themselves in the film.
