why keep changing? hollywood=Take something good and screw it up

Why do producers, executives and directors fill the need to always keep changing a working formula.

For example the live action turtles film part 1 worked, it worked well. so part two comes along and they give michelangelo a stick of salami to fight with. Part 3 comes along and well they cheapen the costumes send them back in time.........why?.....isnt new york big enough to explore.

Now the new tv series works, it works well. fantastic actually so guess what, time to mess it up and send them time travelling again. changing the mood and making it more childish. Why? Toy sales? no other reason.

So now we get to the 3d film. First off, it should have stayed live action. or perphas the made the turtles CGI in a live action world. But that didnt happen so fine I will live with it. But do they keep the voices from the current Turtles cartoon. Voices that have captured the emotion and essense of each character for the last 5 years, no lets bring in some new actors....So that each turtle sounds nothing like the way they should........or we have come to associate with. Now I am not insulting the new film. Havent seen so I still have hi hopes. My point, keep things that work, only change things that need to be changed........

hollywood=Take something good and screw it up

This formula seems to be the foundation on which hollywood is built.

ya know, i'll never understand this. the formula in which you are bashing has produced gads of money the likes of which we'll probably never know. thats why they keep using it. it obviously works, so they havent really changed anything in that respect. now i've only seen bits of the new show, but the voice actors sound nothing like the turtles of my generation. am i supposed to be upset by this? no, it happens. my vision of what the turtles sounded like was different than the casting directors. i've moved on. what you say is working isnt working for me, and obviously wasnt working for the film director. its like the people who wanted tom welling for superman returns. why even make the movie if its simply a 10 dollar, hour and a half episode. different medium, different direction.

as for the nunchuck thing- investors. they arent playing with monopoly money here. there is a huge stigma that certain mediums are left for children(and nerds like ourselves are few in numbers relatively). thats a money issue. they want max return on investment and if mikey beating someone with a chained stick is going to hamper their profit margin it aint gonna be there. tis the nature of the beast. and until we have the millions of our own money to make our own film, thats just a byproduct. its all about the benjamins, not artistic merit.

So what does Michelangelo use if he doesn't have the chucks?

I think the CGI looks great minus just about every human the turtles, splinter, and monsters look great
The voice actors im rather happy with
Why would you want to keep it all live action?
I dont understand this
It worked in what 90?
You know why they did live action then?
Because they didnt have computer capabilities to do a decent CG movie
Nobody now would go watch a live action turtles movie like the old ones
This movie is gonna rock
I think this will work

i'm looking forward to the new movie too, but i would take a new live action flick in the same vein as the original in a split second over animation.

The movies gonna suck.
I'm not going to go see it.

You just raped my childhood. :csad:

What's with that pic of mikey? looks like someone's got the herp.....

I think this movie'll be cool, simply because of the acrobatics they can do...that raph and leo fight is what I've been waiting for for about 10 years.

I'm glad they went CGI over live action, I think the look of the movie is great. It'll allow the Turtles to do really heroic feats and not have to have that "real world" feel to it. The Turtles are more fantasy, than "real world" anyway.

The backgrounds and poses all have a comic book-like feel to them as it is. If it's a good flick, I'd even go as far to say that would be on par with Sin City and 300 as far as the visuals.

turtles belong in animation, not live action. i like the live action movies but the animation is where the turtles should be and always should be. the things that we'll see in this movie would have costed 200+ million to make. so i'd rather have an all out super sylized version of the turtles instead of a watered down live action version where the intense acrobatics and action scenes and images wouldn't have been possible.
