Sequels Why there should NOT be multiple villains in Spider-man 4

It's nice to see the Kraven Lizard story getting so much support.

I was under the impression that everyone hated Kraven the Hunter.

At the moment, Conners and Peter's relationship isn't strong enough to make the lizard a decent villain, they should build him up over the course of a movie or two, to make a better storyline and impact, not RUSH IT LIKE THEY DID WITH SM3 and make it rubbish!

It may be strong enough, we just never see what he does in school. Why else would he go to him about the symbiote?

NO, I sure as hell don't want to see a non-transforming Curt Connors in SM4, I want SM4 to be THE LIZARD's movie. This isn't like the freakin' comics where you can build up a villain issue after issue. This is a movie, for the most part, where you already know that the villain won't be as fleshed out as the comics--that's common sense. I want THE LIZARD front and center in Spider-Man 4.

Multiple villains is doable, but they need to complement each other or there needs to be one clear cut main villain. Kraven & Lizard work well together which is why including both of them is getting a lot of support, whereas it makes no sense to pair Lizard & Carnage. The problem generally occurs when the filmmakers try to build the villains up to be of approximately equal importance and as a result weakens both in the process.

Batman Begins is a good example of a movie with three villains (Ra's Al Ghul, The Roman & Scarecrow) working very well by sticking with the idea that even though there are several villains there is one main villain (Ra's) running the show.

People keep mentioning Batman Begins as a successful film with mulitple villains, but there is only one MAIN villain, Ra's Al Ghul. The scarecrow and falcone are basically just working for him and recieve limited but enough screen time as a result.

The reason S3 didnt work was because there was 3 MAIN villains, which cannot be made to work. S4 needs to have 2 villains max for a few reasons:

1. Better character development, obviously...
2.Longer and more intense one on one battles, lets have a fight that can compare with the train scene!!
3. There arent enough good villains to have loads in each film, by 5 and 6 who will he be fighting....the spot??

Sadly its pretty likely that seeing as this movie made so much that Sony will have at least 3 villains for the next one for fear of losing box office, heres hoping they make a movie for critical not commercial success!!

Ya that's totally true... BB had one villain in my mind and a great supporting cast of side villains... but Ras was the featured villain. Spidey doesn't really have mobsters or humanistic villains to take on.... its not like we consider the robbers or Uncle Ben's original killer villains... BB really only had one featured villain and a bunch of bad guys. Thats the way it should be done... thats why a Sinister Six could work.... since not every member would have to be a main villain... but thats for another debate... have faith in the producers... pretty much everyone has already hinted Lizard as being a lock... of course he couldn't carry the film... but people forget that Carnage doesn't really fit the story... if anything it will just be a prelude to SM5... so that's why I think Kraven is pretty much 75-80% at this point as being number two.

I am willing to have two villains in a movie if the story strongly justifies their appearance in the movie.
But I don't like to see any villain who has great potential get wasted just as a cameo or side villain.
I also don't like villain teamups because that makes them look weak.
