Superman Returns Why was Lois all dressed up?

My husband was asking me this but I have no answer. Where was Lois suppose to go the day she landed herself in Lex's boat?

He seem to think that she was going to collect her Pulitzer prize that night in a ceremony. Is she? I don't think so because she already got her Pulitzer plague. If then where was she going?

To the Pulitzer ceremony. (There's a scene where she begins to feel guilty about having written the article, and doubts whether or not she deserves the award. Perry tells her it's like the Oscars. People only remember that you won, not for what.)

I didn't really understand the scene with her going on Lex's boat. Did she know that was his boat? She acted so surprised when she saw all of the wigs. Later she did say she wanted an interview (I think) but something about that entire scene made me scratch my head.

Also if she knew it was Lex's boat, why on earth did she bring her child???

She didn't know it was Lex's boat, she said the interview line to try and sway him so she could get Jason off the boat.

she had traced the black out's origin to that address.

she and Jason pulled up to the house when she heard the music coming from the boat.

It didn't appear that Lex intended on having Lois and Jason along for the ride. . . he just got lucky in that regard.

She went to the boat because, while parked in front of the house, she hears music playing on the boat . . . she thinks the owner may be inside.

That's what I thought the first time too - but it was actually the invitation or announcement that she was nominated, not the award itself.

Or was she going to a Pulitzer ceremony just to attend (since she already collected her plaque) and the part where Perry said people won't remember what the pulitzer is for, refer to her insistence of not doing the Superman story.

god, they were talking about the award ceremony that night 5 minutes before lois realized she was late to pick up Jason. Then to reinforce that fact, and explain why Lois' clothing had changed, they had Jason ask, as they pulled up to Lex's mansion and boat... "is this the pulitzer" in his cutest voice.
