WiiU

Nintendo needs to launch some new IP's with the Wii U. I'm interested in Miyamoto's new original title for the system.

No, they need to make games for the franchises they forgot they have. Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Earthbound, and Wario to name a few.

I'm still waiting on the Super Wario Bros.

This may sound weird.. but.. As much as I want new IP's and to try out new games in the established Nintendo line up I really can't wait to get a WiiU so I can play Donkey Kong Country Returns, Skyward Sword and Warioland.

:p

I didn't think about it that way but you are correct about that too.

If Nintendo wants to back good with fans, they should be making more traditional Nintendo franchise games outside of Mario, Link, and Samus.

That's actually been my plan as well. I recently I started keeping a list of Wii games I want to buy to play on the Wii U since I never bought a Wii.

They've been kinda doing that. Donkey Kong and Kirby got games on the Wii. Kid Icarus is being revived on the 3DS, and Nintendo probably makes the best JRPGs on the market now.

Same. I would play Wii Games on that Tablet Controller rather then with the Wii Controller that I would not normally play with the motion controller

It's not even the Wiimote that's the issue for me... I've actually given thought about buying a Wii... However, with the WiiU probably hitting this fall I don't think that's a smart choice.

Plus, the WiiU will probably upconvert.

I want to hear more on their online setup. I want to know if the rumor about it being Steam is true...

Just give me party chat Nintendo.

Exactly the same for me.

It wasn't the Wiimote that stopped me from buying a Wii, it was the lack of games. It wasn't until last year or late 2010 when I felt there were finally enough games I was interested in to justify buying a Wii, but I thought with all the rumors of a new Nintendo console I would wait for E3 to see if they announced anything, and they did, and now here I am waiting for the Wii U.

Say what now?

The JRPGs made by Brownie Brown, Monolith Soft, and Intelligent Systems get some pretty high acclaim, much higher than the stuff that Square-Enix and Namco-Bandai make.

Nintendo doesn't make those games though.

Anyway, I'll agree with you on Monolith. Their games are well-regarded. And I'll agree that Square's recent games haven't been great. But I disagree with the rest.

I'm unfamilar with Brownie Brown, but according to Wikipedia and Metacritic, not only are many of their games co-developed with other studios (including Square), but most of the games seem to be middling at best.

Intelligent systems has Fire Emblem and Paper Mario. Fire Emblem is kind of a nonentity and the last Paper Mario game wasn't even an RPG was it?

And lastly, Namco's Tales series is great, and it's one of the last bastions of the kind of JRPGs that I like.

Nintendo owns those studios though, so therefore, they make them.

I can't wait to fight the Eggplant Wizard in 3D! :awesome:

ugh...this is the worst idea yet. Everyone I've talked to thinks it looks stupid and frankly I do too. I don't want to hold a giant pad while I play a game!

Plenty of journalists were skeptic just like you. The general consensus has been that the pictures and video don't do it any justice. It really is something have to experience first hand.

I'll have to experience it myself. I'll wait until I get to play it at my local Target, Wal-Mart, Game Stop or Game Exchange.

Plus, you don't have to use the tablet controller, you can use Wiimotes as well.

Is it just the Wiimotes or can all the controllers made for the Wii work on the WiiU?

That's what they said back then.
