It should not be allowed to get a tax write-off for a completed product like this. It's insanity. Not to mention a complete and total waste.

This makes no sense. Wasn't the tax write off only supposed to be for $35 million? Why would Zaslav try to go for more than double that amount? Like you were planning on dumping it for $35 million anyway, so just sell it for that same amount and get zero bad press in the process.

I believe this is the definition of "called it".The movie isn't even truly "saved" yet. Zaslav is just letting the filmmakers shop it around. Who knows what sales terms or prices will be acceptable to WBD to not can the film for tax reasons.
The fact that Zaslav's solution to this PR nightmare is to sell a film starring century old iconic Warner IP and is testing extremely well to another distributer or streaming service is all anyone needs to know about the mess going on at that studio.
