Will green lantern be "dark knight" quality?

sorry if this is the wrong forum. but i didn't see a justice league forum. and since only say this because. if green lantern could be good enough and if superman works. and if dark knight sequel turns out okay.

i hope RR doesn't do deadpool. it would suck being that orgins sucked. and how would they go from the baraka version we saw of deadpool to the real deadpool we saw.

then maybe they could do a justice league film someday. i mean they have to establish the individual movies first. and achieve a certain quality first and then do what Marvel is doing.

I listend to the audio interview of MPP on the film and, judging from his opinion on what he has seen of the film thus far (and he leads you to believe that he has seen a lot more than we know) the film may very well be the best (of the comicbook movies) next year. I don't know about being TDK quality, and it wouldn't be fair to compare the two films (Green Lantern for obvious reasons will be using more CGI), but based on the reports I have read and on what Poni has said recently, it is going to be pretty good. If an actor like Mark Strong or Peter Sarsgaard won an oscar for their role, then you could say that it is in the same realm as TDK, but I am hoping that that does not happen for other reasons.

I'm thinking it'll be a fun adventure like Iron Man, except probably a little more epic in scope and a little darker than IM. It will probably have more action than IM did, or atleast I hope so.

Iron Man meets Star Wars, in a way, is what I'm hoping.

And about the "Deadpool" film. It's not going to be connected to Origins at all. It's pretty much a reboot. The only same thing is probably RR will be playing him.

No it won't and it shouldn't. Anyone who expects it to be like TDK is definitely setting themselves up for disappointment,I think that this movie will be like Ironman,but funner and better.

If by TDK quality you mean appealing to a larger audience as opposed to the usual audience that flocks to see CB movies , then that is certainly what GL should be aiming for.

Look at the the STar Trek Reboot. It's something that both adults and kids love and it's fun. That is how i want GL to be.

nolan brothers are gonna do a superman reboot and finish up on batman 3. me personally i think they should end batman 3 leaving it open for more bat films later down the line when Bale is older. like they could end it with Bruce (bale) adopting the child robin (dick grayson) and batman realizing that he has to do

I mean GL could be on the level of star wars epicness. I used to watch the Justice League animated series and i had no idea that GL was that powerful or that the green lantern universe was that diverse and epic.

So we could get something that borderlines on Dark Knight quality meaning its realistic but its awesome SCI-FI.

i hope they can make the films stand on their own but create a situation where the movies could possibly be happening in the same universe. its a stretch but it would be cool.

Any superhero involving extreme fantastical sci-fi or supernatural elements is never going to be like TDK. You have to make the stuff plausible, but you can't limit yourself either.

More along the lines of Ironman. Which is good. Batman needed something like Dark Knight. GL is a more fun character with awesome space adventures. So yeah I agree with peeps when they say 'Ironman meets Star Wars'.

If by quality you mean will it be to the level of performance, themes and execution? Probably not, unless Campbell has been given free reign to do what he pleases which is a freedom I'm doubtful he has been given. But I do think WB are going to aim beyond the 'comic book' crowd as it were in the same way TDK did, I think they're going to be treating this as a sci-fi film, not a comic book film, that's really what should be learned from TDK, just focus on it being a good film first and foremost, the moment you go in with mentality that you're 'just making a superhero film' that's where things start going pear shaped.

As far as Deadpool, Reynolds will make an excellent DP and Origins has little to do with that fact.

I think that this has a shot at being the best comic book movie of all time. COMIC BOOK MOVIE,not a crime drama movie with comic book characters in it.
