Will Smith, Joel Edgerton to Star in David Ayer’s Cop Thriller ‘Bright’

I have seen a lot of hate for Landis (he is the new Lindleoff apparently) but not exactly why.

Anyhow I liked the movie and no surprise Netflix is going to do a sequel. I just hope the sequel delves a little deeper into the history and setup of the universe. There are at least 9 races apparently but we only saw maybe half that.

Lindleoff won people back over with The Leftovers. He proved he's not just a one-hit wonder. Landis hasn't. Even with all those scripts since Chronicle.

In this movie, only 3 really mattered and this world seems to build its hierarchy from those 3.

That's true. We saw Fairies as literally beneath recognition beyond a pest race and a reference to the others (Dwarves for instance) but not the others. It wasn't super important to have them made a bigger part of the movie but maybe we could have at least seen more of them than we did as background characters or something. Or maybe they were and I just missed it.

He's simply a better writer then Landis too, who may not have even gotten a sniff if it wasn't for daddy. It's probably why he's such an a-hole and has a massive chip on his shoulder. Deep down he knows it's true. Sad little troll.

It's because people lowkey like to hate on things and add to the hype.

Hadn't seen this thread before. I enjoyed the film and the concepts. There were elements that could have been improved but an interesting idea and Will Smith is as watchable as ever. Look forward to more.

Kind of ironic Landis is out.

Bright was supposed to be his "Star Wars".

Agreed. REALLY looking forward to Lindelof's Watchmen TV series.

Also, I LOVED Lost. I'm such a huge fan of that show I actually won the Complete Series Blu-Ray set in a contest. I don't care what anyone says about the ending; Lindelof and Cuse did the damnedest they could with the cards they had and made sure to answer the stuff that was important by that point. And IMO they succeeded. Better that than some unresolved cliffhanger.

I mean Ayer is definitely a talented writer. The man created the Alonzo character for Training Day and helped Denzel Washington win an Academy Award.

Lost was a great show. The ending could have been better but at least many of the other things were resolved well throughout the series.

Academy award-winning Suicide Squad. Never forget that fact, Jack.

He's a bad writer, who is around because of nepotism. He's also a sexist, misogynistic scumbag, who has been accused of sexually assaulting at least three women.

Lost is still an all time favorite of mine. I own every season on Blu Ray.

Love it despite the documented issues.

"Please Don't Watch It." Wtf???!

What the **** is the issue critics are having with this film? It's like it's personally insulted their families or something. The film isn't that bad for crying out loud.
