Sequels Will the Red Skull Return?

Which is why I hope he comes back in Cap 2. It only makes sense that for Cap, Skull gives us the Thanos tease for the movie.

It doesn't really matter to me. Weaving doesn't really want to do it, and I don't want to see a performance from a disgruntled actor.

Cap moving on the other things would be fine with me.

Does it really matter if they recast him? It's not like they need Hugo Weaving's face for the character any more since they did the reveal to Red Skull in the first Cap movie.

The voice might be a little different, but it's not as big a deal as recasting Norton to Ruffalo as Bruce Banner (and that worked out for the best). Whatever actor they would use would be wearing makeup/prosthetics, so the general audience won't care. If Weaving doesn't want to do it, Marvel Studios shouldn't force him to reprise the character if it's going to compromise the performance.

I would not say final, but one with high stakes (I'd hate for them to kill the character off.) If they have to, I would prefer they introduce Sin, who could take the reigns in a future CA film.

Red Skull was such an iconic villain. His plans seem to have always been half baked but him and Cap have had cameos in like every marvel cartoon since the 80s. He's a personification of the golden age of marvel history along with the sentinel of Liberty. IMO as an icon of marvels villainy he and Dr.Doom have always been pretty close in my eyes.

They have to bring him back i think. The ending of Cap was so wishy washy that the fans deserve another skull film.

I feel like, he should come back just because he's like the most iconic villain of Captain America. But if he doesn't come back, I'm fine with it. The Red Skull in the First Avenger was pretty weak for a lead villain.

Indeed! I can't believe it would be so openly arrogant about some of his roles, I love the actor and thinks he plays great characters and his voice really helps in the long run.

We won't get Hugo Weaving back. He's made that pretty clear. But in "Red Skull" mode, anyone could play him, right?

Hugo Weaving said that he doesn't want to do another Captain America film. I could see one of his descendants fill the role. I'd like to see Rose Leslie as Sinthia Schmidt taking over as the Red Skull in a sequel.

That said, I'd still rather see Zemo next.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if Skull came back in the Avengers. Watch his "death" scene in CA and it looks like he is teleporting just like how the characters in Thor teleported. But yeah I'd expect to see either him or Winter Solider in CA2.

A bunch of people I watched Avengers with thought that the smiling dude we see in post credits scene was Red Skull
(obviously they were not familiar with Thanos)

Maybe the take on Thanos in the movies is Red Skull becoming Thanos ! zomg !

I agree.I think final is too strong a word.Maybe "epic" is what I should've said.t:

I wouldn't have a problem with them recasting the role.Under the prosthetics,you can't tell who it is anyway.(Which is probably why Weaving isn't interested in coming back in the first place.)

If they can Recast Banner & Rhodey,why not the Skull?
