Alright I'm pretty confident and cocky. Comsidering the fact that these films are cosmic level in scale and effect the entire future of the MCU if they dont defeat Thanos. I'm willing to bet one of these parts wont have Avengers in the title.

Now before you go on flaming me in the comments. I'm just your average overconfident being. And you'll all have the gratitude of saying I told you so if they dont change the title of wither film to something without Avengers in the title. :D

I would love if the second movie is

Infinity War: A Marvel Event

I'm still not seeing why they wouldn't, so I'm gonna say yes.

Nope, if a Captain America movie with a bunch of Avengers in it can't even come close to matching any of the Avengers films, then a Thanos movie wouldn't even break a billion. When Marvel announces both films as Avengers movies, I'm going to come back here and laugh at you.

Oh please by all means do. I will gladly own up too my wrongs if I am wrong. Seems to be alot of confidence in the polls tho. And it only makes the concept of being right or wrong all the more thrilling.

Kind of a rush really. If I'm wrong I get ridiculed. If I'm right....ooo, I'm getting chills. :D

Oh one more thing, there's a difference between Civil War and Infinity War, Civil War= Avengers vs Avengers. Even Age of Ultron fell short.

Infinity War=Guardians+Avengers so...yeah. Let's keep that in mind Mikey. :)

Avengers: Infinity Gauntlet

Infinity War: A Marvel Studios Event

I think it should be

Marvel's Infinity Gauntlet(2018)
Marvel's Infinity War(2019)

That sounds excellent to me! All it takes is one trailer showing the Avengers, Strange, BP, Spider-man, the GOTG, and Thanos and it will beat Avengers 1 and 2, regardless of the "title".

Exactly the characters are what make the film successful not the title. Case and point Civil War while it didnt beat A1 or 2 ot still broke a billion in 2 weeks.

It won't happen. They're going to be billing this as the end of the story that began in the first Avengers and Avengers is a billion dollar brand. I don't know what is so confusing about this.

No need. With all the characters in it, it's not even an avengers film to begin with. I could see one of them having Avengers in the title but no need for both.

The title "Captain America: Civil War" sounds pretty boring and political, as many casual I spoke with felt, and Cap isn't a huge draw, so that's likely why it didn't surpass the Avengers films.

The Avengers feature team-ups with other characters quite frequently, so not really.

Just the opposite. The film still did a brisk billion dollars because Marvel knows how to market. People on here complained and said it should have been "Marvel's Civil War", "Civil War: A Marvel Studios Event" or just plain "Civil War." Someone at Marvel was smart enough to know a thing or two about brand recognition.

I'll reiterate what I said originally and say I've still yet to see a convincing argument for why it shouldn't have Avengers in the title.

I think that the brand recognition for Avengers is too important and Marvel/Disney executives will make sure both movies highlight the fact. However, if somehow it does happen, I think a great set of titles would be

First Movie:
Avengers - Infinity Gauntlet

Second Movie:
Infinity or Infinity War

I still hope for my one idea where one film is

Guardians: Infinity War
Avenger: Infnity Gauntlet

That way it concludes both trilogies at once.

I suspect they will. Before this announced change, I was going to suggest it made far more sense to drop the Avengers than to drop the part one and two.

So where do I collect my winnings?

You should be recieving you're earning in the mail tomorrow. :funny:

Yes, because while other characters will make appearances, I expect this to be about the Avengers at its core.

I think they'll probably try to use the Avengers name, but I don't think they should.

These films represent something much larger than The Avengers. I know we got the first hints of the story in Avengers 1 but, this is so much more.
