Transformers Will you still see it???

Yes/No?? Or one of the extremist answers?

  • Yes

  • No.

  • Hells yeah! Opening day, first in line!!

  • Of course I will! Stupid question!

  • Only if Michael Bay dies and they get a new director.

  • Not even if you payed me what they're paying Michael Bay!

  • I will, but I won't let anyone see me, because they all think I'm a hater.

  • I'll wait for the DVD, but only because I can't leave SHH! for that long.

  • My mommy won't let me see anything above a PG rating, so, I may not get to see it at all.

How mature. Considering I haven't voted on this poll.

I'll see the movie of course. I'm not a *****. Now the people who can't get over themselves and need everyone to agree with them and take any opportunity to tear that person down....

He's got four scenes. Have fun with those.

You lie!

LOL!! How the hell do you do a Transformers movie where Prime only has 4 scenes!?

Cue the excuses: they're probably setting up the first movie for sequels. We'll probably see more of Prime in the next movie.

It's called "filler." Have you seen Pearl Harbor?
It's a way for lesser directors to manipulate the audience so that when they finally see the "money shot" scenes they're all "ooohh" and "ahhhh" without really telling a real sci-fi story or anything worthwhile.

Good storytellers like Cameron and Spielberg do it well and actually manage to have something to say. Bad writers and directors... well, they just use it as filler... or a place to put Product Placement and make more $$$.

And really that's just it. Transformers isn't just about robots that transform into stuff. Heck it's not even solely just about their personalities (which some people here like to stress) since they're just classic "good guys/bad guys" not much different than Masters of the Universe or anything else. It's about ICONS that a lot of us grew up with.

Look at Masters of the Universe. That was a whole new "reimagination" on another beloved franchise (a franchise possibly even bigger than Transformers at the time). In and of itself it wasn't a completely horrible movie... heck the fight between Skeletor and He-man at the end rocked (as I'm sure Prime and Megatron's will in Bay's movie)... but, it just wasn't Masters. It wasn't "right" at all. I have a feeling the same is happening here.

It's just too radically different to kindle any sort of affinity. But, then I guess Transformers was way lame to begin with, right?
good point. I don't know what it is with hollywood doing remixes of something that doesn't need a remix. Superman was good the way it was. It was simple and as simple as it gets. Nothing complex just becoming superman and stopping the bad guy. We don't need anymore added to it. Just save the day stories is all we need, not inner termoil save himself type movie. The whole Jesus thing was an insult and It's annoying. Again...just keep it simple and work on what's good to the formula. He never had magic in the comics so why add it?! The kid mythos plays out very different than in the comic so why add it?! just don't mess with something that can have a chance of ruining it.

my question is: Why would anyone here would not see the movie? Honestly. Everyone will go. If they say no, then they're lying.

Because some would not like to see a crappy would-be movie wouldy wouldy would.

Anyone's free to bash it, but keep an open mind, you know? Also, it makes thme look ignorant and very very nerdy. I'm talking about Nerdy who's 35 and still lives with their parents.

If my mind was open any further, you could compare it to Paris Hilton's legs.
Bad ideas remain bad ideas.

maybe the opposite....
This is an open mind: "I dont like the Megatron designs but i'll wait to see what it looks like on screen."

Perhaps this is a case of the pot calling the kettle black? We could be opened minded and accept that based the available evidence, some people have decided [or will decide] that they don't like certain aspects of the upcoming movie and may not go see it.

Try "every freakin' thing that is known".

Which includes a near-final version of the script.

still....just wait til you see something with your eyes, that is ACTUALLY the final product (trailer)

thats all i ask...

Look, if the present information is not sufficient to voice anything critical, it's also to early to voice any approval. How about just locking the forum down ?

just saying theres no real reason to say this movie suck ass until we actually see something

WE SAW SOMETHING. We got renders, we got toy prototypes, we got the plot, we know the styles and resumes of the people involved.

And once again, it's easy to reverse your statement and say that there's no reason to say that this movie will be any good "until we actually see something". It makes little sense either way.

Innocent until proven guilty? Or guilty until proven innocent?

Well, "will this movie suck?" vs "will this movie suck as a Transformers movie" might be two different things. All the evidence for the latter IMHO suggests it will suck... even though it could still be an OK and watchable movie.

Also saying "will this movie be a typical Michael Bay fluff piece" vs "will this movie be an instant classic sci-fi movie" is also a good question to ask based on Bay's track record. Whether you like his movies or not, I think everyone can agree they're not exactly "thinking man" gems.
