The Amazing Spider-Man 2 With Great Sequel Comes Great Lounging - Part 2

Honestly, cross-overs are only confusing for casual viewers. If Spidey lives in the same universe as Wolverine, why didn't the X-Men helped with Lizard? Or Spidey to The Avengers?

I kinda like them more in their own universe, especially Spidey.

I see the same argument for individual MCU movies. I don't understand why. Most people don't seem to struggle with the concept and we've had decades and decades of comics history doing just the same thing.

But that's the biggest problem with MCU movies. They're always trying to tie-in things. Sometimes it's just stupid as hell (like Caps shield in Iron Man 2, or The Incredible Hulk in Iron Man 2 or... well, everything about Iron Man 2, names, references in all 5 individual movies...). And not every casual viewer knew that there was a single unified universe of superhero movies until The Avengers.

Most casual people does struggle with the concept, the same way casual people can't follow comic storylines. The comic issue is bigger though, because it's just ****ing ridiculous how you have to follow like 4 different prints just to understand why a character is at one panel. I've been reading comics for a long time, and it's ****. Well, imagine that for a casual viewer.

Now imagine Wolverine suddenly appearing at, lets say, TASM 4. Every casual viewer would go bat**** crazy as "The hell!? Why is Wolverine in this movie? Why didn't he helped Spider-Man with Electro? Why didn't Spider-Man saved Ellis Island?". You may think this is stupid, but not everyone is a comic fan and visits a superhero movie forum.

If they wish to have cross-overs with Wolverine and Spider-Man, then it's just gonna have to be done like "who cares about continuation details, whatever, let's focus on what's happening now and just have fun with it"

None of that will bother me about how they get there if it happens im sure they'd have a great explanation but really doesnt matter to me personally.

To a handful of guys posting on internet forums. Just saying. Most people just don't have a problem with it, not just casual viewers. Maybe it's not quite the problem some people make it out to be.

Well, STID's heavy tributes weren't as bad as I feared. Definitely my favorite summer movie thus far.

It was a really good movie. I'm conflicted as to whether MOS or STID was better.

As far as I'm concerned, they are sitting on money right now. Fox and Sony loan their characters to Marvel, Marvel spends the money for the film, Fox and Sony don't spend a dime, then they get a little bit of money from the box office earnings. You're getting paid to do nothing, you'd think the movie studios would be interested in that.

I doubt Marvel will be interested in that

Their movies(especially Avengers) are earning so much as it is,its improbable that introduction of Spidey or Wolverine would raise the bar any higher,on top of that they would have to pay Sony and Fox

Raimi's fist two Spidey movies aired on TV a couple of days ago (they didn't even air the third haha!).

After watching those again after a long time, I feel like I've experienced some kind of awakening. I feel that I have been so wrong about these films lately. I haven't realised how great they actually are. Especially Spider-Man 2.

While there still are things that bother me, such as arms controlling Ock, Green Goblin's cheesy suit, there were alot of things that bothered me before that I actually loved this time around! Oh, and not to mention how horrible Dunst is.

Tobey Maguire was one of those things. Not to jump any bandwagon here now, but I feel that afterall, he was the best Peter Parker so far (I think Andrew's version will be written alot better next time). He wasn't nearly as corny and stale as I remembered. His Spider-Man sure leaves alot to wish, but I think he pretty much nailed Peter Parker. He was extremely likeable.

Another thing is the humour and tone. I despised the humour before and felt it was way too cheesy and kiddy. Truth is (to me), that it's the other way around. It is clever, delivered extremely well and placed almost perfectly. The tone itself is pretty perfect. There are genuinely funny moments and there are alot of serious and even some dark stuff. Compared to Spider-Man 2, the humour of ASM feels less thought out, not delivered as well and is too forced. Also, the plots and the story is done so well in SM2, it didn't only rise in my Spidey list, but also in my CBM list. ASM looks almost a little amateurish compared to that one, dare I say.

I would even say that the directing of Raimi, with the camera work, colors and stuff is the best in any CBM I've seen and even one of the better ones of films in general.

Yes, a complete U-turn, but that's my stance right now.

1) SM2
2) SM1
3) ASM (pretty close to SM1)

.
4) SM3

SM2 is a pretty incredible film. I thought Tobey was a great Parker, I've always felt this way. I just wished his Spider-Man was funnier. The first two are great films.

SM2
TASM/SM1
SM3

Oh yeah! :awesome:

It looks more like a remake of Predator (Predator 2 remake, maybe, as it's in a city?) than a sequel to Predators.

That same line was said by Billy in Predator anyway.

A quick Google search comes up with a quote from the new Metal Gear trailer. I guess in that context it's Snake expressing regret at what he's become (the things he's done). Or something like that.

I bought MGS4 2 years after it's release, never really got into it.
