Who do you think the villain(s) should be in a live-action adaptation of Wonder Woman?

if a live action ww film ever does get off the ground and actually rolling its likely the first film villain would be circe or ares.

I can't imagine them using Genocide in any other media

Ares. He's pretty much the best choice, considering he's the main villain in her origin story.

I'm hoping for a trilogy of movies for Wonder Woman. For that reason, I started with Cheetah and end with Ares.

Movie #1...Cheetah (Thandie Newton) with Dr. Psycho (Peter Dinklage)
Movie #2...Circe (Claudia Black) with Giganta (Laura Prepon)
Movie #3...Ares (Pierce Brosnan) with Silver Swan (Jolene Blalock)

Wonder Woman's villains should be based more on Greek mythology in the movies like Ares and Circe.

Ares, Circe, Cheetah, Giganta, Doctor Psycho and Silver Swann.

Ares and Circe. I don't see Wondy having a franchise. Just one movie to launch her into the minds of the GA so when they see JLA, they know who she is. Or if they want a sequel, they could have Doctor Psycho, Cheetah, or Giganta.

yea that is possible but why do that when wonder woman does have a few pretty known villains like ares, cicre, cheetah and giganta.

I'd like it to be Ares or Circe. Ares is a pretty important part of her origin, and Circe is just a good villain in general.

I don't want it to be Hades, if only because I never liked the fact that everyone likes to interpret Hades as Greek mythology's equivalent to the devil. He was actually pretty benevolent, and ruled over both the heavenly and hellish parts of the afterlife.

If Wonder-Woman is only getting one movie, Ares is the obvious choice. He could be introduced as a businessman trougout the movie and, in the movie's epic final battle, he could become the classic version of the character. It would be awesome.

yea and with the right story, director, and cast any of her villains if developed well could be a great threat to ww and for a film or a series of films.

For the first film, Ares is the obvious choice; he plays that part in her comics origin, and has the most scope, which is necessary to prompt her to leave the island.

Hades has never been a villain in the comics (apart from in "The Bronze Doors", but that was because he was opposed to Athena and co. abrogating the original pact made between Zeus, Poseidon, and he).

He was a villain in JLU.

And Wonder-Womans father!

That was only part of JLU continuity (Hades being Diana's 'father')...not part of the mainstream comics universe. She has no 'daddy'. No one helped Hippolyta form her from clay.

Every time I imagine that, I keep seeing Hades sitting behind Hippolyta while "Unchained Melody" plays-- like that scene from Ghost.

well the whole hades thing for jlu was likely because they didnt get the rights to do ares. like how they wanted to do jsa but couldnt.

Holy crap, seriously? They couldn't use Ares? What the hell is up with DC and the permissions they were passing up on that show? Granted, I know why they weren't allowed to use the JSA. It was the episode where they met the Justice Guild-- DC didn't want anyone to remember how hokey and corny the JSA used to be. But Ares?
